  1. Ahh ha. And with Christmas right around the corner I'm sure I could stock up at a low price. Thanks Chief.
  2. Hi Cogs. I think it's very creative and I like it. I don't know much about Native American dos and dont's, but I believe anyone would appreciate the creative process. Nice work indeed.
  3. Yeah, I didn't see it in writing anywhere, but I had a feeling plastic wouldn't be a good idea. Where do you get cheesecloth at?
  4. Just wondering what type of material to use for protecting finished leather goods for shipping. Bubble wrap? Foam peanuts? Newspaper? I don't really know what to use to protect holsters and belts from getting marks during shipment. Any help would be appreciated.
  5. You could also try the edge paint. If I remember correctly that stuff will stick after gum had been applied. Several coats may be needed though.
  6. No step by step this time. I just went ahead and finished the rig. I do have the step by step photos if anyone is interested. Thanks for looking, and thank you to those who have left compliments.
  7. Hello again. I wound up finishing the belt a little while ago. Here's the finished rig.
  8. +1. Looks very good. I need to get some of that Wyo Slick. Do you like it better than Gum Trag or anything else you may have used?
  9. The exact same thing happened when I built a shoulder rig for an XD9. Thumb strap was nice and snug around the blue gun, but when the real gun was put in the holster the snaps wouldn't line up and snap. I think the blue guns are a tad bit smaller than the real thing. I wound up taking the same corrective action as well and it eventually stretched the strap.
  10. Be sure to check the rule books for whichever association you look into. I just joined the Cowboy Fast Draw Association and their rules are quite different from World Fast Draw. Not sure about SASS. Wasn't a local club, so I didn't even check out their rules and regs. You're off to a good start, keep going.
  11. Not bad at all, especially if you are just getting into leather working.
  12. I'm no stamping expert, but I think this one looks better than the last. A couple recommendations though:1. Don't stamp on your stitch line, inset it some. 2. I think the flap should mimic the shape of the pocket. Your pocket has nice curves, but the flap is rectangular.
  13. Take a look at the Galco site. I've seen those loops for sale on there. There's also a couple of other places that sell those loops separately. You could pick up some already made and attach them to your pattern with minor modifications. They're also available in kydex.
  14. Thank you. I've been working diligently on both. iphone and a home made light box is what these were taken with. i'm wondering now if they make a tripod adapter for an iphone though? thanks everyone for the compliments.
