  1. There are better machines for serious leather work out there. Patchers are funny sewing machines and they are good for many purposes but I´d rather look for a triple feed / walking foot industrial machine either a flat bed or cylinder bed machine. Maybe this pinned thread will give you an idea. Since you are in PA I´d check with dealers like keysew.com - they are in Phili, PA. or maybe Toledo Sewing Machine in Toledo, Ohio.I´m sure both offer good used machines (and new of course) and both have an excellent reputation here in the LW forum.
  2. Working fine again. My 34K5 is not like your 34K11 - the K5 has the head part of a Singer 16 or the like and the K11 has the head part of a Singer 45K which is much heavier. The K11 is using System 328 needles (AFAIK) and my K5 is now setup for 135x17 (orig. needle system was a different). I don´t know the max stitch per minute, its not mentioned in the manual. My 34KSV5 weights approx 29Kg. Hope this helps.
  3. depends on the market... Condition is not really "beautiful" but when its is fully functional and in this condition I think somewhere between $1000 - $2000. But your treadle base unfortunately is not complete and shuttle is quite worn original tension spring missing and screw holes seem to be worn off. A new owner might want a new shuttle and they are not really cheap. Seems the bobbin winder is missing too - they are hard to find but recently one was on Ebay.co.uk and it did not sell. Check with this seller - he had it for sale: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/saddlemalc99 Maybe you can get more but depends on the marked and how badly someone wants a machine like this and how fast you want to sell it. This was the original offer for the bobbin winder: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bobbin-winder-for-British-united-Harness-6HM-leather-stitching-machine-/272770015263?hash=item3f825c201f:g:VNUAAOSwsTdZcNmn
  4. maybe this helps:
  5. Now thats really cool!!! How much did you pay for the part? I have no idea how much casting a piece like this would cost nowadays. Speaking of "old school" Co´s - Few days ago I was on the road picking up a bandsaw. Figured the Co. CL Maschinenbau (known as CLAES) is not too far away from where I picked up the saw so I took the chance and made a ~50Km detour. I wanted to buy a few small bits for a patcher machine. So I arrived and at their business hours and had to look around finding the entrance, went up the stairs and stumbled into their office and ask the (very friendly) office lady if it is possible to buy a few small spare parts. Sure she said and she took me down stairs directly to the production site where her father (!!!) assembled a 8346 patcher machine. He gave me the parts and even had the time for demonstrating me a zigzag patcher machine - yes a zigzag patcher !!! - very cool machine. We talked approx 15min about their machines and some old machines they no longer produce and stuff. He also gave me some needle bar adjustment measures for the needle bars of their latest patcher machines (you can slide the NB up and down). I unfortunately was not able to take pictures inside the building but that really was a cool experience. It´s nice that companies like this are still out there. They are gems and you have to find them. I often enough experienced the opposite.
  6. Others may have other preference but I use 10w40 motor oil on mine - this is not the oil I´m using for "regular" sewing machines but I think this beast really can use a heavier oil than standard sewing machine oil.
  7. Top Thread on the 34K11 is threaded like a Singer 45K. Shuttle is threaded like on a Adler 30-7 or Singer 29K72.
  8. oooouuh - thats really expensive. DHL does not ship above 20Kg to Down Under as it seems (at least I cannot buy postage online for above 20Kg - but have to check at the PO). Package is approx 25Kg ready to ship. Australia is most expensive continent to ship to - unfortunately. I will check other options.
  9. There we go So another project - making a fat bed attachment...
  10. Dürkopp 207 donated. Adler 96: $35 + shipping Adler 37: $25 + shipping Will not go lower - rather sell them on Ebay.
  11. Ha - now that I see the curved piece on the back side (flat bed rest) I remember mine came with a curved piece too but I had no idea what it it good for - now it makes sense. There are a lot of "standard" pictures of a #6 Machine but often no one took pictures of the details. So THANKS A LOT for the pictures!!! That really helps me I hope I still have this curved piese... have to check...
  12. if I remember correctly there are 335´s w. very short stitch length like 3mm or so but not sure if this is limited by the needle plate only or if it is factory set. So better test the machine before you buy it.
  13. Seems to be a PEARSON #6 HM / BUSMC #6 HM - a while ago I have restored a very similar model but labeled DVSG which is the German equivalent of BUSMC. Check in the sewing machine section for BUSMC and you will figure this machine is still quite popular Parts are quite expensive but they are available f.i. for Aaron Martin in Canda https://www.aaronmartin.com/search.php?searchFor=pearson or check with LW Member SINGERMANIA from Australia - he has at least 1/2 a dozen of these machines and has a lot of parts AFAIK.
  14. This thingy here? Noooo I can´t - its also restored + functional - it´s from the 1950´s or 60´s Seems I like rescuing old things.
  15. Hi Doru - I remember you once posted that you have a Mansfeld post bed machine you are about to restore and you have been looking for tension unit parts if I remember correctly. I will post some pictures of the accessories soon.
  16. Haven´t even finished my Durkopp 18 patcher but I could not refuse this one. It´s a late 1800´s to early 1900´s Post Bed Machine made by ROBERT KIEHLE, Leipzig (ROKILEI). I unfortunately don´t find proper information on this manufacturer or machine model. I know there was a quite similar model made by CHRISTIAN MANSFELD , Leipzig. But that's it. This machine sit in a barn for at least the last 50 years. I bough it along with a Colibri patcher but no way to "rescue" it. its way way too rusted and casting cracked so I will try to safe some parts but the rest is not worth the work - too bad. The two are real bar finds. They came from a (at least) 3rd generation cobbler form the Hamburg area. The grandson of the original owner is still an active cobbler but machines have been sold by his (the current cobbler´s) son who is gathering some bucks for his first motor cycle. Fortunately the post bed machine came with bobbin winder, hooks, bobbins and needles. Needle system seems to be Sys. 88 or 657 like many other old cobbler machines like Colibri or Claes and Durkopp patchers are using. So that`s at least a good start... An issue is the foot pedal which is cracked and oddly repaired. Maybe I take the one form the Colibri if I can make it fit - time will tell. Not sure what I will do with it when it is restored - maybe a keeper but I don´t know yet since space is a issue and I still have to free some space for the Durkopp 18 I`m working on . Some pictures
  17. funny little domestic sewing machine - well engineered - long lasting but no serious industrial strength sewing machine - you can sew some 96 thread with it - this is not a heavy duty machine for leather - by far not! You can sew "heavy" denim or some heavier canvas or garment leather but thats it.
  18. I´m pretty sure! I have not seen a 29 (w/o K) on my side of the pond but they should be the same. 29 were made in the US and 29K in Kilbowie, Scotland. If you find parts list of either machine compare the part numbers.
  19. BTW - the Singer 29K leaf springs are the same
  20. Blade springs new are ~150€ + shipping in Germany if you dont find them. http://www.wdn.de/artinfo.php?artnr=A23636 EDIT: I have the complete sliding block and the foot pressure adjustment screw + thumb nut if that is missing too.
  21. glad you are pleased and the parts have arrived quite fast
  22. I would guess its an re-branded Adler 30-7.
  23. I knew you would say that - just for you - no just to bother you - I will add some silver pin stripping Naaa - will not.
  24. Looks rather like a standard / small bobbin. I´m not sure but afaik the 345 has not been produced with large hook.
