  1. Does the video apply to the 4000 in general? I have a 4000 but it doesn't have the opening on the back farthest from the hand wheel. An additional video showing any differences in adjusting the 4000 would be great for those of us with no previous sewing machine experience. SkipJ
  2. I just got the class listing for Wickenburg and they are offering a class in Porter style again. Re: Texas style, I just remember the class being offered, didn't take it and I'm not knowledgeable about styles. SkipJ
  3. How do you stamp the scripture passage on the holster, a pre-made stamp or one letter at a time? I can't quite make out the stamp. SkipJ
  4. I found the classes for this years 9th SouthWest Leather Workers Trade Show 2009 are posted on the Leather Crafters and Saddlers Journal. It's a little sketchy but it's a start. Good job LCSJ. SkipJ
  5. I was at Wickenburg in 07 and 08. I took John Banches holster class both times. Have to do it till I get it right :-) Took a few other classes. I hope the schedule comes out sooner this year. It seems all the things I want to take are at the same time. Went over to the "Winter Range" Cowboy Action Shooting National Championships at Ben Avery range in Phoenix the same weekend. Just shopping not competing. SkipJ
  6. I didn't take the class, I just remember it being offered. I was curious at the time as to the difference between them. Are there more? SkipJ
  7. In my earlier posting I mentioned a class at Wickenburg teaching 4 styles of carving. It was in 2007. Jessie Smith demonstrated 5 styles, they were: Sheridan Porter California Northwest Texas SkipJ
  8. Embossing as with a machine? I see some carving that has a three dimensional look, saddles for instance. That's what I'd like to get with my stamping. SkipJ
  9. Thanks, thats the best description I've seen. SkipJ
  10. Last year at Wickenburg a class in 4 styles of of carving including Porter. I also wondered what it was. This doesn't answer your questions but I'm curious too. I didn't realize there was anything except Sheridan and the old floral carving. SkipJ

  14. I don't normally comment because I don't feel qualified to do so. However, your carving takes my breath away. One doesn't have to be a expert to appreciate you work. SkipJ
  15. Looks great Mat. I too am curious about the parallel lines on the stems. Skip
  16. I have a question re: Listerine. Are we talking about Listerine mouth wash, or Lysol. I guess I got courious when brown Listerine was mentioned. I haven't seen brown Listerine but have seen brown Lysol. SkipJ
  17. Have a Blessed Birthday SkipJ
  18. Just came across this on Gizmodo. I seen some conversation regarding etching leather so I thought it might be interesting. Too bad it costs $8000!! SkipJ
  19. Great job as always Matt. I like your inspiration from engraving, personally I appeals to me more than the floral patterns. Skip J
  20. I have a number of videos on holster making and John Bianch's are the best in my opinion. If for no other reason they are longer and go into more detail in the process. They are on multiple DVD's. I don't have Jim Simmons video so I can't speak for it. SkipJ
  21. Just curious, what's the profit in Yak rasing? It sounds like they aren't pet's. SkipJ
  22. I quit before our daughter was born, for the babys health, that is for the final time. I also went on a diet at the same time. I figured, if I was going to be miserable I might as well do it right. The physical craving gos away way before the mental desire fades. Don't give up, just keep trying and you will make it. SkipJ
  23. Great idea, I know they say they are gread to quickly marinate meat and we essentially are doing the same thing. SkipJ
