  1. Nice machine someday I'll own one .
  2. Wow some of those beautys must have been thru some wonderful years in our history , the flat belt overhead drive systems must have been wonderful to keep in operation . Line shafts like that would be extremely dangerous to work around . When I was younger I worked as a machinist and we had a shop with machines run that way . Man when OSHA came in we had to build all kinds of cages and covers , but what an efficient way to run the shop . The more we go forward the more we should go back. Just my opinion the old ways were better . Wish I could find a junker and rue like you have there any leads on one in the states . Gary
  3. Hey can an old cripple go to , wonder how the plane would handle that . A big guy in a power wheelchair oh we'll I can dream .wish I had a couple of those babies . Gary
  4. Nice job I kind like to hand stitch my leather goods too. Even tho I have a. Couple machines nothing like the cowboy or Steve's , but my Adler 104 ? Will do a nice job up to about 3/8 leather mine has a walking foot on it , I think it was made for making the ruffled tops on moccasins . I'm disabled and one hand doesn't work as well as my other but it looks good to me when I'm done I'll never be an artist at leather but I like doing it , I made a fully adjustable sewing vise this summer so I can put it between and under my legs in my hospital bed and swivel and rotate it the vise to any angle while reclined or uprite , if I ever put some pictures on here that would be one I'd put up plus the mauls I made . Gary ,,, again thanks for the sewing hints , you make each step sound easy . I'm greatful thanks
  5. Nice price for a quality machine wish he were closer to me, hey move to jersey and bring it along I'll take it . Gary just my luck of course....
  6. Now that's a knife croc Dundee got nothing on you. His behind the back carry tho made it a quick pull option I like it the inlay sets it off well very nice job looks good and should hold up well too. Again nice job . Gary
  7. Yupp that's about it they don't work real well with the thread you use. But they were made to sew hardto sew items the reason for the thin cylinder. Anything above say 6 ounce double and it's hit or miss on the stitches hooking up but they are usefull a lot of them out there. I own one plus an Adler 30-1 , the Adler will so a little better with up to 138 top and bottom tho.Gary
  8. I agree may be the new one Bob kovar is selling al rigged up I think it's around $1,500 bucks or so . Don't quote me for price but I read and see that it's a nice machine ck them from the banner on top at Toledo sewing machine company. That said I bet you could get your machine fixed up sounds like parts are still available if you find the right person to do it , Even Bob might be able to help call him or email he's done lots of them . Gary
  9. Me too how much for the classic luberto machine and sciver , tool list too thanks will send email address if you want thanks Gary
  10. Is the holster steel lined or rawhide, some quick draw holsters are?
  11. God I wish you lived near NJ I'd buy it in a minute, I guess shipping would be outrageous . Gary
  12. I've never found any better art than yours , I would be proud to show off what you do self taught , natural artist I think . Good luck in the future and welcome to our site . Gary
  13. I would buy the leather already dyed then you can seal lots of ways ,I like neetsfoot oil and let it drye then carnauba wax and buff . Resolene , mopnglo cut 50% . No matter what you use after awhile you'll have to reapply about once a year to keep the leather pliable and alive . If not it'll start cracking and sweat bleading into the leather will make it hard also. Read my last answer the resolene and others are different ways of sealing not all at once sorry getting sleepy it's 4am here been up al night again?
  14. Not one word of the best Benny Hill now there was a show , never missed it when it was on, the toy maker on chatty chatty bang bang . Probably his most serious roll. 15. Try to wait for a walking foot machine you'll be much happier , try looking in a couple close states or big cities on Craigslist. It might be worth the drive .
  16. For help start by watching YouTube vids some very good ones some from tandy on there too. Buy just what you need till you practice awhile get some scraps even from eBay to start, to jump into a Sam Browne set up is not for the beginner but your the owner if you want go for it. You'll need either the dyed leather or a good Latigo tell the supplier what your making they can help . Snaps and setter, a Burnisher and wax , hole punch , you can buy the Sam Browne buckles and attachments for police leather also ck other post on here for pictures and ideas and where to find the items you'll need . Take it one step at a time, don't rush remember Rome wasn't built in a day neither is a Sam Browne . Gary
  17. I like your design have couple questions tho? Why not make the strap mount the same top and bottom to me it looks out of sinc and the middle opening wouldn't that let the arrows seek out when bouncing around , looks kool and the workmanship is great from top to bottom. Gary
  18. Try contacting Bob & Bob at Toledo industrial sewing machines. He's on this site and his banner is on top click till it comes up I'm sure he'll help , always helped me in times of need I call on him when I need parts too seems quite fair on prices too. Gary
  19. I did the same thing and like the stop screw helps to stop mating my work.
  20. Wow really nice , keep posting pictures I like them all . Do you sell any snake skins? Thanks Gary
  21. Wow never saw anything better , really nice work . I like them all ,thanks for sharing .
  22. Me too I like making flap holsters , mainly for myself never sold any . Guess I'm practicing on myself or I'm to critical with my own .
  23. Looks good I've been trying to only use the fold over and sew or rivet for the belt carry. My old ones always seem to ripp or get the sheath out of shape. Could be just me but they hang better for me doing this way. Of course it needs more leather or added like a swivel on a holster. Gary
  24. Ok open the door I'm knocking let's see how bad the jokes really are. Guess I'm old enough over 50 ok .
  25. Kool add me to the list , I love to try new things . Keeps me interested in learning even at my age. Life is good. Gary
