  1. Hi I received the winder today, thanks for the part and quick shipping. Gary
  2. I would bet you could mount a servo motor on the side of the tool box by the hand wheel , most are reverse able now. Or hang it just off the back of the box . Come on use you abilities the ingenuity of the rest shows up. Think up a way , where's ther a will there's a way . The servos can be had for under $150. On ebay delivered. Gary
  3. How about epoxy to a Chicago screw , don't know if you could use the coin covers used on uncirculated coins , kind of a picky customer right . Try making some using quarters to show them , hard to please some. Gary
  4. Very nice looks like its well proportioned and made to last. Gary
  5. God bless you , your trials have made you the lady you are today I thank you for this forum , I'm disabled and my fine motor movements don't always do what I want them too. Kinda hard to do great tooling with one good hand but I don't let it stop me , my credo is never give up . So I keep trying and making what I can , I don't make any money on things but I like doing the leatherwork. I make my own tools to save money. Yupp I like this site thank you loads , I spend hours looking. Gary
  6. Nice job did you line it or how do you keep it from slipping ?
  7. Hi I'd like to buy the bobbin winder , shipping to Marlton NJ 08053 , how do I pay you . Do you know how much shipping will be ? Hope shipping don't ruin the deal won't know if I don't ask thanks Gary will give email trapshot_100@yahoo.com
  8. The only thing I see is most people aren't round , oblong like a race course might work. I ve seen some cowboy setups where they flair at the hips also ck the old b/w movies with Tim Macoy his tapers and fits like its formed on him. Gary and they are beautiful too.
  9. How much for a rivet press and rivets if you still have them , some snap sets too. Gary
  10. If you can make a detailed drawing with all sizes and even good pictures a machinist could make some parts . If cad can available could run them on a cnc and make a batch of say a hundred shouldn't be as exspensive as you might think. Gary
  11. Works of art need I say more!!! Wish there was a way film them all running to see how they work , to hear the thumping and all the other suttle sounds they make , some are just neat to watch . Gary
  12. Ok stop trying to corner the market on the leather sewing machines . Man I'm jealous nah just envious very nice collection wish I had a couple of them a Pearson , junker& rue , 7 class singer or Adler , from the small to the Hugh . Big flywheels to watch spin and carry the power thru the hole operation neat . We need some manufacturing to remake these just like them its time I think . God bless you in your search for all the remaining machines someone needs to save them , Gary
  13. As strong as the thin magnets they sell now I think they would be good for these. Strip magnet real thin sewn in and a sheet metal strip in the other side . Anyone ever try it I'm thinking on trying but haven't yet . Gary
  14. Wow that's nice , great job in fifty years wonder the stories it could tell. Good luck Gary
  15. How much for the machine in the first and second picture I'm in Marlton NJ . Not to far but still a drive. Thanks Gary
  16. I saw your add for the 45 parts is the winder still for sale , will it work on an Adler 104 ? I think numbers right thanks Gary
  17. Pictures some of us like the old and or odd machines to me they are works of art. Just the mechanics and machinist to make them no such thing as cant do it they engineered a way and will keep doing it. Gary
  18. Both of those machines are of good quality still lots in use now , I own an Adler like it comes in handy quite often. Also I have an Adler copy of he 45 singer . That machine will work good on leather up to about 3/8 " . I think both could or should bring about a thousand each maybe more if really good condition parts can be had Bob Kovar hs a lot of parts and knows them like the back of his hand he's at Toledo sewing on the top banners here. Great to do business with too fair on price and can't beat the help the two Bobs can give. Gary
  19. I think your pulling the thread to hard , if the thread is splitting or fuzzy I'd think the needles have a nick or sharp eye. Are you lining up the needle scarf with the clamps slot that could make them catch and break . I've used two different models and both have little difference when sewing . If you use an awl it gets pretty quick with practice . Hope this helps Gary
