  1. Interested You bring up a great task many would like to do. For myself better, easier and more efficient. I followed the leads and yet have not seen a photo either. In short I took a look at Hightex accessory pics but no luck on these special numbers. I will have another look around. Thanks for the part numbers. Floyd
  2. I would go ahead and call Gregg at Keystone to get a sew quiet motor headed your direction. Not sure of your projects but these are plug n play motors. http://www.keysew.com/ good day there Floyd
  3. Yes I agree and understanding a bit. In my thinking the semi-suede used can actually have leather in it, though from some upholstery points a lot is "if leather" is probably ground up bits and then sprayed onto the textile backer. Im wondering what a photo could help here and so just recommending a restart. Possibly any mention in layers and any other recent issues. Thanks for the tips and have a good weekend Floyd
  4. I would run some textiles through the machine and try getting the tension back where it sewed a great stitch. These issues have damaged mine more than once by bending the needles enough to hit something when motor is powering through. Although if it hand wheels through the cycle easily then its hard to tell so patients and perseverance. That noise while cycling sure sounds like a clue. Seems the burrs get started and needles get redirected in short order. I think this is compounded with leather material vs canvas types. I need to place an order for some more fine abrasive cord. Wonder if the guitar shop has some? good luck there Floyd
  5. Good eyes
  6. Hey thats some great work, the cording edge bead really puts it up to Top shelf. Good day there Floyd
  7. Maybe they were working shrink to fit textiles I have been meaning to get a couple tape measures for tables. A shop towel with a bit of lacquer thinner will wipe the old measure clean. I was curious if anyone had seen a cloth type, but short. Something kind to gelcoat Floyd
  8. I think the first two stitch lines are working better. The idea to use a bigger thread in the bobbin than top has my interest in why. Im curious is the bobbin tension screw still adjustable. Not to make a change at this time in your test, just the question. A reason I ask is you mention the top tensions being at their minimum setting. I know these 441 types are heavy duty, I have been curious if top tension springs are an option some have changed. Good day there Floyd
  9. The canvas you mention is pretty heavy duty. If your folding it much in your bag project you might want a bit more than the 1181 in my opinion. I seen early you mention bag and wallet projects. So honestly if this is the project list a standard size cylinder arm is best. These can be had with a smaller table that is mounted to the cylinder, so making a flat bed yet again removeable for bag work. Lets face it we all will try to get anything done if need to with what we have. So i would look at the offerings in a 138 size thread and lower cylinder arm machine. If you think about it thread color can totally do a good job as a eye catcher. Good day there Floyd
  10. It might have to much gap in these two guides where the thread can be slid behind or over to install. I recall the upper guide can be tough pulling the thead behind to install. Possibly that one has been bent out, if i remember correctly its positioned into a hole actually and may have been bent out. Some times i have had the loop catch on a tensioner nut, and so understand this can be a real pain. In looking at other photos early this morning im not familar with the circle type at the lower position. Floyd
  11. Ok guys im about to give up on using the phone for veiwing, or thats the excuse im trying to use Your spot on Uwe from my re-viewing ( zoomed ) in! Hey it happens in the best of times to many of us, Fix and move on. Floyd ps possibly start the thread through the opposite side of the multi hole guide
  12. I remember you talking about that being a bit longer. You sure made a good top for it, and the stand turned out great. In doing the routing I understand it can be like splittn hairs Them corner shelf pads and hinge places are tough and a pain. On some tops, I had on hand and so used some fiber glass resin. It worked great for sealing the newly cut out surface. Seem to me with a few deep cuts it has also been a benefit. Most tops I seen had the cut out area saturated with oil from the many years. So I used this method on the new tops. I agree and am partial to casters myself it sure makes easy work when moving these machines as needed. Floyd
  13. It looks as though the take up levers black gaurd is bent in and right. Making a person consider an alternate thread routing as the norm. Good pickup there! Its a good lookin machine, no wear marks. good day Floyd
  14. Adam in your post photos the top being the patcher; the bottom looks to be a late model Juki 241 possibly, but it for sure is not a 273. You could consider the 273 to weigh twice of that machine probably. The 273 is the Flat style rather than the Cylinder style of the venerable Juki 441 here from a past post is a Pfaff 335 Good day Floyd
  15. To consider what is was like just using a service manual; then to pen a letter to a company for guidance. Times have changed for sure, sometimes I laugh at myself as to the quickness of the present day technical information available. This is somewhat fun here on the net with access to sharpshooters around the globe. If you like and I believe ya do the access to knowledge on these Leather, super tuned machines then your on your way to enjoying many machines available to you. Much of what happens to machines we make happen ourselves "and don't realize it" in the early stage, of any model. I think if one goes above and beyond to set a certain base for projects. In these choices have very similar needs as thread size, textile or leather thickness and requiring the same or very very limited adjustment in tension, this would be a perfect start. Lastly the group here, includes yourself now seems to me they enjoy the repair questions needed by others especially when illustrated with photos. Hope this helps Floyd
  16. I think we need to help and discuss a bit. The juki in your post doesnt look like a 273 maybe this below can help in that. But i will agree a cylinder arm machine would be an advantage for you. I am interested no matter in "what the real number is on that juki" Floyd https://www.google.com/search?q=juki+273&client=safari&channel=iphone_bm&prmd=svmin&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiE7-_B9sjVAhUCxmMKHSNoDTMQ_AUIEygE&biw=375&bih=559&dpr=3#imgrc=3aouyUkYy2FwGM:
  17. On a factory Cobra with the standard needle plate. The needle foot out side to edge of standard plate is almost 5/16". The shuttle cover could push this needed distance farther depending what the project is. Also this if you can use the inside presser foot. Good luck Floyd
  18. Great question especially because i wondered the same, if issue is on a start or ending. Good day there Floyd
  19. Outstanding instruction video! Uwe, thanks again for your help. Good day Floyd
  20. I bet if we ask on that machine Cory posted we would think 4K was a sale for some other machines. I meant to and forgot to ask if that sewing room there had the machines in the floor / lowered as some sail shops. Interesting for sure! good day Floyd ps. Have to check on the 9204ZT Hightex, heck this one does the 4 step
  21. Wow thats a beast, and enough room for sure. i guess bigger machines with bigger jobs. That is some canvas to move around, ya start folding or piling that to move around and you got some weight. I can see that puller being a life saver along with a requirement no doubt. Thanks for sharing the pic Floyd
  22. Speaking off the cuff here! But old school and physical I totally understand and agree with the eps comments. And gladly followup with the one setup with my Mitsubishi clutch motor is king by far over two other newer ones on servos,( why i dont know ). I noticed awhile back before i scored a used Cobra. The super duty stand being used by our friends in Australia and also commented before that this is in my book a Real nice stand. It would be a great oppurtunity to take a trip and check them out first hand. Good day Floyd
  23. If he was headed through the midwest im sure we could come up with something. I really have enough to work with now. Sheeeesh sometimes think i need to be buffulo bill and run two at once "somehow" but quickly realize reality. Thanks for the great tip Floyd
  24. Have you found another replacement supplier for that color nylon. I had white 277 nylon from another company that didn't work out similarly so went with poly and havent looked back. Im sure many said the same with the cotton to nylon revolution. I talked to Coats here in the states but as a small quantity I needed they had gave me a few companies for these amounts. Even these companies wanted to sell a box "really". I often thought like a lot of things if i just order a pallet load from coats it would be easy and just start puttin a sticker on it. As many others Part of learning all the conections i suppose and working the field. I have enough to do now so dont need the added headaches. Have a good weekend everyone!
  25. Possibly in your test scenario ? In the video on your channel i cannot see the top thread tensioner being used. And again maybe the testing or can you explain any tips with this setup.
