  1. Cheryl, I have two cats that help make everything a hair on project. One is into helping and stealing my leather pieces.
  2. I will never use elephant, kangaroo or exotic mammals.

      Whatever holiday you celebrate, mike.

  4. I like the idea of slaughter free. But as long as people eat meat we will have slaughter hides. I have many vegan friends, it doesn't matter if it is slaughter free or not, they will not buy it. I find this is just a little gimmicky but each to their own. As for free range chickens, that is the way they were when I was growing up. However antibiotics and steroids replaced the better taste of free-range chickens. I work in leather of all types. I love leather. The smell, the feel of it. I do not advocate the murder of animals. I do not eat red meat and if you are going to kill a cow, pig, deer, elk or moose. I believe you need to use or find a use for everything or give what you don't use to someone who does. I know that cows are slaughtered for their meat but there is a use for every part. I do not subscribe to big game trophy hunters that, go out and hunt for just the hide or the head, you better use the whole animal. If you hunt deer, moose, elk then don't throw the hide out, give it to someone who uses it. I used to have friends who were hunters. They boiled the hooves for the dogs, ate the meat, called me to get the hides and made buttons and crib boards out of the horns. Now, I will stand down from my soap box.
  5. I love the smell of leather. I love the smell of cattle and horses. I don't love the smell of; glue, paint or lacquer.
  6. I learned that I should always have my hair up when gluing something. Because it ends up a hair on piece and not cowhide.
  7. Thanks for the advice on the light box. That choker and there were counter parts, a black like it and some others were all done before my cobra 4. I will have to do more on the cobra.
  8. i hear you on that sister. When I worked in stained glass. I broke a ton of glass due to anxiety. I have a problem with taking pictures of my jewelry because of the shine of the chainmaille and the wire. Some days you are the windshield and others you are the fly. Today, I am a fly.
  9. I am looking for black rubber soles for bottom of boots and shoes. Not high heels or work/hiking boots. I am also trying to find a wholesaler for memory foam insoles for shoes. I have a pair of shoes with the memory foam and never want to wear anything else again.
  10. It is like reading some of the text messages. I hate it when word correct thinks it knows what I mean better than it does and goes ahead and puts it's own spin on things. Well everyone got a laugh for the day. Now I need to go sketch around some shit. Not a shirt, different shit.
  11. Yes, unfortunately not a great camera and many of those are sold now. I have nothing but crappy episodes today submitting these. LoL
  12. Here are a few of my other pieces. The first two are made from softy pig skin. This is the only leather that can be taken in water. I washed a piece by accident and it came out perfect. Very soft and beautiful. The first one laces around the back and the neck and the other is a bikini halter top. Turquoise bikini halter top at the bottom. do not ask why. Black halter bra reversible with swaroski crystals and leather waterfall necklace passport cover Red collar not for dogs
  13. Damn spell checker. I never sketch around shit...LOL Don't you be laughing at me, Troy, or I will show you my prowess with a whip. Very comfy and soft. Yes, I have actually sold a few of them. You can e-mail me at: leatherwytch@telus.net
  14. That is what I basically did. I found a shit sketched around it to a point. Depending on size I leave at least two extra inches around the areas that are being sewn. It is better to be more roomy than tight because boy can they get hot. Contrasting sleeves of deer hide split suede are lighter than the deer hide. So it is warm but not too warm.
  15. Excellent sheaths!
  16. I draw all of my my clothing patterns. As I have to do them for different sizes and there is nothing similar out there. I like to put a unique spin on my things. Sorry
  17. I won first place for this deer hide shirt. I ran out of deer hide so, I used deer hide split suede for contrast. I am not sure that the contrast can bee seen here.
  18. Lots of work, excellent!
  19. These are great boots. However how do you stop the bottom from wearing out quickly.
  20. Very nice, great work!
  21. Welcome, Kiwican, for a fellow Canadian in the West. This is THE best leather site on the net.
  22. Maybe if you go to a some stores in the mall with big sale signs you will find them. As these are not coated they are not a problem. I wish i had the room I had before to do my work. I guess it is win lottery time.
  23. These are cardboard tubes, 4ft or a little more high, Some are about 6-10 inches in diameter. I have a friend that works at the mall and when some of the stores get in huge window signs etc, they come in these tubes. He snatches them and tells me I meet him and we load the car. I have some that have less diameter they are perfect for some of my special soft leathers like, hologram leather.
