  1. Grey Drakkon, There is a decent discussion of medieval quivers here: http://paleoplanet69529.yuku.com/topic/41950/Quivers#.Vjv7n78afIU Hope this helps -- I always enjoy seeing your posts and look forward to seeing your quiver!
  2. Really nice looking from the outside - how do they work? Do you have to take them off your belt to open them?
  3. Very creative way to put that together. I especially like the way you incorporated the logos on the interior.
  4. That's a lot of hand sewing. Your attention to detail - burnished edges, excellent straight stitching - is to be admired, as is the duffel. I hope to see more of your work!
  5. Thanks for posting this. I like paracord and have given some thought to trying to mix paracord with leather. Your project looks great and puts me in the mood to try mixing the two. I am one of the dissenters who likes a neck knife; however mine is a CRKT dogfish and appears to be much thinner. Thanks again for posting.
  6. A friend asked me if I can repair these. They go around the ankle (front legs) of a reining horse to protect them when the horse performs a sliding stop. The stitching has let go and the layers of leather are coming apart. I figure I can use contact cement to seal the layers back, but I am not sure how one goes about repairing the stitching. The stitches are very close together. Should the repair involve removing the old thread and attempting to use the same holes? I do have a stitcher and could overlay the old stitching without attempting to hit the same holes. I have never attempted to do anything like this. She did tell me if it was too much trouble, not to worry about it. Welcome any suggestions on how to proceed.
  7. NICE! Did you have to remove any trim or do any disassembly to do this?
  8. Nice - I have made wood molds like that, but I never thought about the dowels to index them. Do you find they make much difference?
  9. Hey, Chief - I love looking at your work and Youtube videos. You're going to need to rework your business card, tho - in the pics above it says "wear ugly leather" -- sorry, couldn't resist
  10. I love looking at knife sheaths - such a simple concept with so very many different variations -- your finish is wonderful and would work on a lot of different leather items - makes me want to take an airbrush class. Beautifully executed and clean. Thanks for posting.
  11. Big change - hope you love your new home. I moved from the Panhandle of Florida to Tennessee nearly 20 years ago and still miss the ocean and the fishing.
  12. Manypawz - I have a question about the strap. I like the design and the way it looks, but I wonder if it will loosen over time? Do you have any experience with this? Thanks, Mike
  13. Not only is the workmanship off the chain, I love the way the theme and the colors all fit the bike. WOW.
  14. I agree with all the comments above - beautiful work! I would also like to say I really like the way you put a detail photo with the item in use. Very clever and creative way to show it off. You are a truly gifted craftsman. -- and wise about women, too.
  15. Awesome! . . . . husbands are like that. I know, I am one.
  16. Very unique and cool design! Sorry you have to dye it - but looking forward to the possibilities . . . Let us see the final result, please!
  17. Great work! . . . but you'd better keep your cousins and aunts and uncles away from the leather store!
  18. As always, any comments are based on a computer picture and not being able to hold the real item. That said . .. I wonder if you made the red outline a little more pronounced whether it might make the shield "pop" more. The white background makes it a little hard for my old eyes to see the total effect. Or perhaps trying an edge treatment? These shields are very nice - whoever receives them will be very happy to have them. Keep it up!
  19. Very nice - I'm surprised how nice the finish looks. I would have thought the Titebond on wet leather would bleed through. From the pictures I see absolutely nothing wrong with the finishing. The dark braiding really sets these bowls off. Thanks for showing!
  20. You've balanced the design so well with the dragon on the front and the design running over the shoulder and down the back. A lot of thought went into the layout -- very well done!
  21. Cool -- I took a look at your web page. There is an amazing amount of different leatherwork there. I would say I really like the sandals, but I like the holsters and the motorcycle bags and all the rest, too. Do you do all these different styles yourself? Thanks for posting and I look forward to seeing more of your work!
  22. I know the stitching is extra work, but I consider well done stitching to be the icing on the cake, and a major difference between good and great. Well done! Thanks for showing this! 23. Splitter has sold - Thanks!
  24. Thanks for the replies, guys - I guess I just didn't realize what it was. I will get some pics of split leather and then post it for best offer. -- Mike
