  1. yep. you could always put something between the leather and the hand the glove is on to prevent scratches though.
  2. if you follow my directions you won't have "the same problem with a different material on the outside"...the lining and leather outer glove would be attached at the tips of the fingers.
  3. lowe's sells drawer pulls with university logos via special order. might check with them. they're about the same size/shape as conchos so you may be able to adapt them for your needs.
  4. i have no idea what you mean by "short finger position" what i said to do is turn the gloves completely inside out. and the liners too. then put a couple of stitches at the tip of each finger through the liner and the leather (through the seam) at the end of each finger to hold the liner in place. i am not understanding what is ambiguous in those directions.
  5. That saddle looks really handsome. those conchos add a lot to it and are very tastefully done. just beautiful. don't worry...plenty of room in the wagon. lol
  6. lol!! ok, you got it Dwight! funny you mention that...i think i'd heard the same story at some point, so quite a few years ago i got an Ike dollar in my birth year (the 40% silver one) and drilled a small hole in it to carry on my keychain. it's been on there a while now...getting "character" i don't ride horses anymore or i'd try the spur idea. though when i used to ride, i used much smaller rowls... thanks for the kind words all...
  7. i ordered one from elsewhere due to the 2 week delay shown on leatherburnishers.com now.
  8. yes these are real coins, no i don't need a lecture from anyone about defacing coins thanks.
  9. you don't like doing ground unit patches then?
  10. i'd like info on this also please.
  11. the way i am reading his first post, his gloves aren't in need of repair. he's saying the lining comes out of the glove when you remove them because it is "floating" inside the glove...not attached to the leather part except around the wrist. just turn them inside out and put in a couple of stitches at the end of each finger through the lining and the seam of the leather to hold the lining in place. pretty easy mod.
  12. nah. don't think so. oh and i'm trying to protect MY investment by not blowing $20 on some umm..."patterns" i have zero use for. (he's the one trying to sell the stuff. not me. i'm going to require pictures where i can actually see what stuff i can make if i'm going to give him any $$, end of story.)
  13. ok well his pics are really, REALLY bad.....but i looked through every (bad) picture in that small pattern pack and did not see anything anywhere even close to what i described above. in fact, i didn't see any key cases that used the metal loop hardware i mentioned before either. anyway i am disinclined to spend $20 on some patterns where i can barely tell what the finished product will look like. for that reason i'd prefer a free or at least cheaper (single) pattern. and one where i can see what it'll look like when finished. here's a picture of what i want to make. http://image.rakuten.co.jp/frisbee/cabinet/redmoon/061mgrrc-cw-kc-p1.jpg and now that i've found that pic just now, maybe i can make my own pattern. (i didn't see that pic before...) if i end up making a pattern i'll consider offering it on here since i cannot seem to locate a pattern for it.
  14. i've been trying to find a good pattern for a keychain....the type that has a metal insert where the keys are on hooks and lay next to each other in a row. i saw some that use a concho to snap closed. that's the kind i'm looking for if anyone can point me to a pattern for that i would be very grateful. thanks.

i couldn't care less what it is. it's deceptive and it's wrong. cough(bull####)cough also they aren't the tannery they are a reseller for the tannery. the so-called "handling fee" is trickery to make their prices look reasonable. stupid people won't notice it and the smart ones that do will not buy from them...or will and will note how excessive the price becomes when you add their little "handling fee".

a $30 "handling fee" for doing their flippin JOB??? yeah, i don't care for those kind of games myself either. tell me more about this "waterhouse" place you speak of... was considered ordering from these people, but not if they play the "handling fee" and excessive shipping cost games. i don't play those and i steer far clear of those that do.
  17. it's been six years since they posted that. betting they already bought one since then. lol
  18. that is excessive. looks like i will be ordering mine elsewhere or make my own.
  19. make a couple of nice things for her. i bet she'll be more supportive then.
  20. i had already looked at those, but they didn't really help at all. thanks for the tip though.
  21. thanks for answering my question above.
  22. if i had a video, i would be able to follow it. and wouldn't be asking for help here. here's the video to the gaucho fan knot, but I was able to do it with no problems. i just don't know if it's the same as a regular 7Lx6B with a second color gaucho interweave or not. then why does it work for the 5Lx4B base knot? i know that one works because i tied it last night. is it not row and column coded also?what is the definition of a "gaucho fan knot" please?
  23. well, i was able to find a tutorial to do a symmetrical 2nd color interweave for a 5Lx4B base knot. unfortunately, i tried just adding more O1 and U1 to do the same on a 7Lx6B base knot and it doesn't work right. i saw a tutorial on YouTube for a 7Lx6B gaucho fan knot? is that the same thing? i'd really like to be able to do a symmetrical interweave in a different color for the 7Lx6B base knot and also the 9Lx8B one. i think there must be a simple way to get this to work, but i've looked and searched all over and can't find how to do that. i would appreciate any help, please. but if you're going to get mad at me and frustrated and angry, please don't reply. i have enough mean people in my life already i certainly don't want to encounter any more on here. thanks again for anyone that is kind and patient enough to help me understand this. maybe it will help someone else later with the same questions.
  24. i don't care for the looks of that so i wouldn't make mine that way. but that's just me. i also wouldn't leave the back raw leather like that. i'll be lining mine when i make them. now if i could just find a decent tutorial i'd be all set. but if you like that look go ahead and make them that way.
  25. are there any sources for good quality buckles for watch bands that are made in the US or at least somewhere other than asia??
