  1. Welcome to the forum. Nice work. would love to see more.
  2. If you need more, I know Jim Downey stocks metallic roo lace.
  3. Welcome to the board. Really like those cuffs. That cig box is pretty cool too. Nice
  4. Welcome to the board. Enjoy your stay!
  5. Now that is really freakin cool.
  6. Looks nice. I like the coloring.
  7. Check out Brettuns Village. I know they have tails and faces. Not sure about the hides. http://www.brettunsvillage.com/leather/sides.htm
  8. Welcome. Glad to have you here.
  9. Mike, That is really beautiful. I'd leave it alone. Nice job.
  10. I picked one of these up a while back. Works very well. And if you cut from the obverse side of the leather the pin won't penetrate. http://www.mcmaster.com/nav/enter.asp?pagenum=2256
  11. Hey Ken, Nice looking site. Saw it in Firefox, works fine. The sizing chart is there but the font color is black. One bit of a question, I am wondering if the text is a little too dark. It is readable, but I can forsee someone with limited patience not wanting to concentrate that much on having to read the text. One last thing. Your gallery pictures. You might want to hot link the pics themselves too not the descriptive text. Natural reaction is to click the picture, not the text. Looks great otherwise.
  12. For quiet compressors, check out jewelry and lapidary supply houses. They have quiet compressors for engraving and other hand tools. But they are not cheap. But airbrush compressors aren't really that loud. the one Eastwood sells is fairly quiet. Not as loud as my 30 gallon.
  13. Welcome aboard. One question. You are worried about being good enough to compete? I think others should worry if you do compete. Your work looks outstanding.
  14. Nice seeing the pictures. wish I could have been there. Looks like the talent is really stacking up. I am glad to see more skulls and flames in the competition this year. Congrats to all the winners.
  15. Very nice. I like the contrasting colors of the bag and the thread used.
  16. What kind of leather do you do your plaiting with? Is the core plaited too? If not what did you do for the core?
  17. Welcome to the both of you! Very nice work. Look forward to hearing what differences you find in the different tooling styles.
  18. I agree with the Beave. I have not taken checks for years now. Gotten burnt too many times for some very nice gear. But the thing is too, you have to watch the plastic too. If any of ya'll use a knuckle buster and run them through later, I suggest stop. Your processing company should have a feature to call it in. Do it. The customer will wait. But what I do now is tell my customer that the returned check fee is equal to the merchandise being purchased ($50 minimum). That usually deters them, and they somehow find the $5.00 for the keychain they want.
  19. I know there is one in the 1992 Sept/Oct Issue of the LCSJ.
  20. Yes the beveling will make a definite cosmetic difference. It helps the edges lay flatter. Gives more of a finished look. Thanks for the kudos all.
  21. Muchos thankyou's. I have 150 hours into this whip. Seems like allot, but remember every layer has to be plaited. But the sad part is it works out to be about $4.30 an hour. That time will decrease as my experience grows.
