I started out with Bruce Grant's books, but ever since I picked up Tom Hall's books they are all I use when I need a reference.

That is a great tutorial. May I ask, what kind of clamp are you using to hold the bundle? I have never seen that type before.

Welcome Ryan. Glad to have you here!

Nice work.

That is really really nice. Great work.

Took the words right out of my mouth!

As Bruce said the beads will deflect the needle. You can run a stitching channel with a carbide burr to prevent the deflection.

Randy, Welcome to the board from a fellow guy from Chicago. If you ever feel like making it down to Chicago, you are always welcome to check out Prairie States Leather Guild. We meet on the second Sunday of the month. www.pslg.org

I had some issues with ordering from Tandy's website. Like never getting orders, slow delivery time, pricing, etc. However since I started faxing or phoning the orders in I have never had a single problem. And I get the order the next day if I order by 2pm.

Darn it, my secret's out. Thanks Pete. LOL. Isn't it great finding out these things.

Thanks for all the great info.

Welcome aboard Warren. Glad to have you here.

Do you have a swatch book available as most tanneries have one available which shows their selections. Also will you deal with DHL on your international shipments? They are much better to deal with for international shipments?

OK, so I have always been curious as to what makes this stuff so special. I have not wanted to cough up the dough to actually see. so I ask the world wide whatthefu@k. The only thing I am seeing is when the oils are added to the hide. what are your thoughts and experiences? Can you get a good return on something made from English Bridle Leather? How does Wickett and Craigs English Bridle leather compare to say Sedgwick's. Inquiring minds want to know.

How much time would you estimate you spend doing leatherwork?

Well, before I got married I was working for 6 hours each night and all day saturday and sunday. Now is a totally different story. I now work 2 hours a night and one day a weekend. SO before marriage - 60+ hours After 30. I just need to get her to pound on some hides and we will be back to normal. -
Wow that must be one honkin knife. My suggestion would be this. If you bevel and round over the edges of the sheath, a round braid or mexican will look great especially with that 1/8" lace. You can also add a piece of leather around the edge to help with the curvature if you already made your holes.

Every cool blade deserves a cool leather wrap. -
Like the unicorn pattern. I know you mentioned these are some older work, how about showing some newer work for comparison.

15 hours? Wow, last whip I made took me 150. Hope to get that good one day. Love it.
