  2. Thank you Freak, I appreciate it! Spider bro, all to please you Tom
  3. That's some outstanding work Roo! The paintjob is really awsome. It sure looks like some squig type of monster. Tom
  4. Oh Alex that's so nice of you, I sometimes have so much to do I feel like vomiting so I post everything I do ASAP but the tubes takes up much time too, and family and work and more. I wanna do more but but.. Thank you so much for liking! Tom
  5. Hey KAte! This is fantastic work!! See you got use for that backgrounder too and that is producing a fantastic result when used that way. I was just thinking about colours, this looks so good I wouldn't dare to dye it, I think?? since I know your so good with colouring It'll be interesting to see what you do with it. I'm seated... Tom
  6. Thank you Art! So glad you liked it 'cuz I never forget the fine inspiration I got from that stirrup bag of yours! Thank you Kate!! I think if you went through my posts since the crash you could see a very distinct developing line leading to where this is. That skull has a good chin I think that makes it look more poppin. OF COURSE...Arrhh harr harr.. Tom
  7. Me to, sorta'. I'm not very good at it but learning more and more but so far I prefer to do the mexican round braid to edge burnishing. The skull bracer was just wet polished edges whilst tooling it since I was so anal with the painting on this one I couldn't give more time to it. That doesn't show much when antiquing comes on but I have to practice with the brush and spirits. Tom
  8. He he just commented yours about the same way! Thanks Gremlin! Tom
  9. Nice stuff Gremlin! Those look like some awsome fun to do. Nice solution with the D-rings to keep the strap, haven't seen them around here in a proper size for bracers except plastic ones. Nice edges, looks professional! Tom
  10. I thought about punchin a hole in my leathers and hang them in a closet since it starts to pile up in a corner and it would work for those long patterns aswell. Or hang them double over a closet hanger (I'm thinking of those you hang in your jacket on). Right now they seem to be taped all over my room, lol. Tom
  11. Thank you Tom and Roo! Love that backgrounder e294 from craftool. Tom
  12. One of the nicest and most tutorial presonas here. http://leatherworker.net/openmouthbearclayb/index.htm The backside embossing is at the end on page 2. Tom
  13. Thanks Darryl! I just love the lace behind style and I have one cool archers model that laces under/on the side of the arm that is neat too. I could do other types aswell but theese seems to be popular so I do them like this for now. I started making bracers since they show alot and was a popular item for wristprotection in viking times aswell. Tom
  14. Thank you guys! Thought I gotta catch up with all the skulls going on lately...nah..just wanted to make Spider happy..eh..well customer told me to do skullmotif but it was a great timing since it's a long time since I got to flex my horns a bit...groarr!! About the overall look I just wanna add that for the first time I used Fiebings black instead of ROC pure spirit base and it just lifted the finish a lot, that or I had some unknown factor that made the black shine so nicely. Tom
  15. Oh man, what a lucky boy that is! I'm so jealous, probably won't have time to wet my lures until end of may: Pike and trout is what I normally go for this time of year and whenever possible I catch an occasional eel. Tom
  16. Totally gorgeous, just love the snake and how you managed to wring it around the design and also very good elaborate work on all the details of the snake. You got it down good. I used to own a couple of constrictor snakes so I think it's suiting with this type of necklace, tighten it up and you'll know what it feels like when you get the constrictor around the neck, oh chill it in the fridge first, lol. Tom
  17. Gotta clap my hands and horay for Brent and ClayB aswell. Well done and big congrats to ya'! and drumroll for all three Tom
  18. Heeej jeah! That is one nice and fluffy piece of art! Love it!! Big grattis to the win, never doubted you could do it! Dä' ä bar' å' åk, vettu!! Tom
  19. Thank you friends! I love your work too ya' know so I feel honoured. I worked alot to get the shading down and for the backgrounding I first went a pass with proper casing, let it dry to the point where the leather doesn't really want to take the impressions well and whacked the backgrounder in irregular patterns over again and lastly I tilted my tool and gave a few really hard whacks on a few places to get some really deep impressions. Just to get variety from using my favourite backgrounder 'cuz this one's running the risk of being overexposed!!! Tom
  20. Look for tattoflash magazines at a well sorted magazine seller. They often have a little note to the usual copyright note that says " free to use on skin". That is so generous. Maybe tattoo flash is not your preference but they often contains stuff you would not expect. Sometimes it's possible to pull to stuff out the designs, like a skull with a victorian scroll, pull out the skull and you have a nice scroll for a portrait. Lot's of tattooflash on the web too. Tom
  21. Throwing in a quickie for a friend whose daughter is 18 tomorrow and a fullblown metal headbanger. Though a very small bracer (just over 4" wide if you lay it out flat) it got a few hours into it. Black n red painted with brush and some blue on the splashes (that turned green, then brown and in the end dark brown), one coat leather sheen and then some antiquing. Throwing in a pic that shows original artwork side by side aswell for reference. Tom
  22. It looks really cool and I can't imagine what yo can come up with this. Will be interesting to see. If you shred leather very fine and mix with glue you get what I think is called leather putty wich you can fill the hollow outs in the back to keep it from collapsing over time. Also check out ClayB's stuff on extreme embossing. Tom
  23. Now I 've seen all pics, thanks! Looks very good. Is there a slot in wich one just insert the backsheet of the notepad? Tom
  24. odinssman petr kaj, yup had to look it up. There are different types and I'm not even very good at the ones I used most. Theese ones should have been used up to somewhere about 500 AD if I have correct info, after that some of them disappear but remains in the magical rune set. I guess petr kaj is customers name but Peter and Kaj I've never seen as surnames except with the extension of son, like Petersson and Kaj only as first name. If this is the case the line reads: Peter Kaj Odins man. I don't get why there is two s in odinsman. Hey Roo, it's very funny and a bit awkward to see runes turn up halfway around the globe about 1500 years later in a high tech world. I have runestones close enough to walk by foot to see one. They are very cool, many of them (I think about 50% or so) are raised after Sweden were christened and often carry inscriptions and praires to Virgin Mary and of course the christian god. If they are of heathen origin the often end the inscription with " tor vige" wich means Thor is the guardian. Tom Edit: åhh, forgot to tell you the're lovely. Wood colouring is awsome. Tor vige, lol
  25. Very nice and clean looking wallets. Love the raw bands knot and the wooden barrel feel on that one, so cool. How do you get those big fat grooves on the rope design?? Modellingspoon?? I'd like to see more of that one. I like the motif on the one with a flying gun, very neat. Tom
