  1. I love your stuff, this is just as awesome as the other anyhow. Now I'm just dying to see you have a go at the predator from the same move with face and all. I think you could pull it off but off course doesn't fit at a ren fest! Tom
  2. Thanks for the good explanations David, I'm just suckin it all in and adding to the thinktank! You're always so good with having pics to show your stuff aswell. Tom
  3. Wow, that's some cool skull stuff bro! The first one is so darn freakin nice. Love those teeth. And what did we say about honesty with our stuff, purse for wife!! Yeah, nice try Tom
  4. I'm currently using alot of Fiebings leather sheen (with acrylics) but haven't tested it for long but so far seems promising. I have one belt out with it and customer has had it for about 4-5 weeks now and no probs with the sealer. Stuff to look out for is cracking and I'm always a bit worried that it will come off in flakes like it wasn't able to bond with the leather from the beginning. This happened once but I think that piece wash sent through a washingmachine actually. Fiebings saddle lac (spray stuff) will work to I think but it looks a bit more plastic to me. Before applying finish it's a good idea to exercise the leather by bending it grainside out so that the grains stretches to the lenght it will actually have after sitting around the body for a while. I do that when it's slightly wet. Otherwise the finish might crack from the stretch when tightening the belt around the body and the grain start to stretch, the finish may not be able to stretch and crack instead, also the belt become's a little smoother with this. I wrap a cloth around the belt and give the edges a good polish at the same time carrying out the exercise. Other will have their opinions on finishes but basically I think there's alot of ways to do leather stuff so try with what seems to be the best way for you. Good luck!
  5. Hey Caroline, Great tutorial and stunningly beautiful mask! You're so good with that metallic colouring of yours and I always love to see your masks. Maybe your son gives mom proper respect from now on, lol. Tom
  6. Very nice, daring to go from a photo I think. I've done it and for me it took some figuring to decide how to execute the making of the transfer and the carving. Nice touch with the wooden sign, I like that! Tom
  7. Very nice! Love the structure with that backgrounder and nice even backgrounding around the floral, smooth. Tom
  8. Looking good so far! I have this tool and like this border alot but think it does require some practice. Good luck with it! Tom
  9. How come I've missed this!!! This is freaking awsome!! I just love it, all of it but even though that frontmotif is so beautiful I 've gotta say that the lettering on the back is to die for. I'm absolutely stunned, this thread go down my favourites for inspirational use for sure! Tom
  10. Agree with smokin, I don't like heights so the first one makes me dizzy, lol. Excellent stuff, those torn skin showing flesh of yours are so darn cool. The planks you do are so realistic, gotta give'm a try one day just because they seem like alot of fun to do. Cemetary bracer is cool, kinda reminder that we are all gonna die someday- precious today and so forth bla bla, you know what I mean. I like the big bracer too, shapes are fun and interesting to play with. Last but not least, that is one cool belt. Nailed those long lines down straight and nice and I really like the border stamp used with that one, those skulls are so cool. Hope we get to see it finished. Way to go bro! Tom
  11. Hi and welcome! Don't be afraid to ask, everyone here is very helpful and there are no dumb questions ya' know (I already posted them IF there is any). Tom
  12. That's some cool stuff! I'm thrilled to see what you will come up with in the future. Tom
  13. Very nice Jim! I like the natural look with just that little colouring detail. Tom
  14. Awsome, looking at the whole bike I'm just thinking his wife maybe was right. There's no graphics on the bike either, not that I can see anyway. That seat surely rocks anyhow!! Tom
  15. Nice job! That colour is so nice and rich and even as usual. Gotta love that design with the feathers and fire, looks so good. Tom
  16. Hello and welcome! Looking forward to see your stuff! Tom
  17. My kind of guy, skull afficionado;-) Looks really cool, like twinoaks mention, with that black shading and the white lines to accent contours. I just recently tried that technique for a little flyfisherguy motif. It's a silhouette type motif so I used gold to accent the contours where the sun comes down and light up the outline of his back and the line flying away to meet a name inscription in gold. Neat stuff. Is it possible for you to get that pic in better quality? Oh BTW don't expect to see many skulls from me, I mostly do what others order from but I was challenged to make an Iron Maiden Eddie head the other day so so...I want to make a belt with it but currently loaded with work so we'll see. Tom
  18. Hey, just thought of something. I think you should look up Beaverslayers vest tut. As I recall he didn't carve anything, just scribed lines and beveling on that one 'cuz he didn't want to sacrifice strength but better look it up, I could be wrong on this. Tom
  19. Hi and welcome! Tom
  20. Hello and Welcome! Lots of seatmaking goodies and top notch seatmakers and probably some people in your position, that has a motorcycle seat in sight. Tom
  21. What a skull, I'm blown away!!! I'm very glad for all things posted on airbrush, I'm gonna have to get one but the money for it isn't in so I'm just taking in a much info as possible to make the most out of the purchase when it can be done. Oh and buying lottery tickets, lol. Thanks Roo! Tom
  22. It is bigger than I thought, seeing it sit like that I feel there is less probability of hip irritation c'uz with that size friction will probably hold it in it's place. I know all about those structural differences, darn they're hard to get rid off, lol. Tom
  23. Nice work again Frog! Lot's of exotic leather today I think. I get jealous, I've been googling for it but can't find any of it in Sweden. Suspecting import laws. Anyway nice celtic style floral there, must be your own invention again. Croc or gator on the back is really cool. Nice going! Tom
  24. A couple of years to work up courage to post such nice displays :wtf: !! No offense I'm only kidding, forgive me ! Seriously I think both are very nice and the bag shows some consideration and feel for colour combination and composition. There's a lot of stuff going on with that bag but you still maintain a nice elegant look to it. I'd would never have dared to put pink lace but it really looks good. In my head it seems impossible. Looking forward to see more stuff in the future! Tom
  25. I see the small b and small a leaning against each other in Davids (ba= a is just a shrunken mirrorised version of b I like Davids version better but the butt is the best part of it;-) Tom
