This just came from the workbench. I swapped this belt purse with another member here on LW, I got tis fabolous slicking tool:-) This purse was inspired from my homeland and the "neighborhood" I grew up (Uppland-Sweden) I think this is the area where the number of rune stones from the Viking era are most common. The typical rune stone has these snakes/dragons wraped all around and they all tell a story...And so does this purse, the text is also by the rune alphabet (Futhark) and carries a message for the new owner. I painted the dragons and the text with leather acryllic paints and then had some hi-lite (Fiebings) ontop to get into groves and such. I tried to get as true to the colors as possible that was used by the vikings.

The moon, stars and whole universe:-)
Tina replied to Tina's topic in Collars, Cuffs, Leashes and Leads
Agree...The silver is a wee bit difficult to work with. I have found that using it on black makes it all much better and, I do blend in a dropp of acryllic "silver sterling" paint from Joanns and likes. *LOL*True, so true...I do my best:-) -
Just a little comission collar I shipped out yeasterday. It's dyed black and then added silver/bronze paint for the moon and stars. It's actuall star contalations on each side.

Just a small little weird thing
Tina replied to Tina's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Hi Pip, No, no secrets and weird stuff:-) I simply use the spirit leather dyes from Angelus, I love the vibrancy (if that's a word?) they produce. After dying I have some neatsfoot oil on it and let it set for at least 24 hours. Then I have a choice of high gloss, satin or matt acryllic finish (also from Angelus (or leather/satin sheen-Tandy). When that is dry I have the antiquing on and after a while lightly taking of all the excess with damp paper towels and then another layer of finishing...Done:-) To keep the leather color on this one I used Fiebings Hi-liter as antiquing, only leaves black in the groves and don't stain the leather. Hope this helsp a we bit:-) -
wolf style rifle sling
Tina replied to MADMAX22's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Really nice tooling on that one Max and I like the design. Can't someone who knows how to make riffle slings make a smal drawing with pieces and meassuremnets for the rest of us that really wants to try *blink, blink* -
So Thats what you've been up too...Missed having you around in the threads:-)

Hi, the last time I can remember the tools was 3.99 USD, I think in...August? I suggest that you sign up for their email newsletter, then you get the sales flyer around once a month or so.

Fantastic, I want:-) Love the way you manage to capture the "old world" in the piece. I can see "the blower" in front of that old fireplace at the pub "The Drunken Duck" (sort'a) on a dark wintery day in the Lake District or other nice place in England.

Well, skull holster done
Tina replied to Tina's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Hi guys and Thanks for your comments:-) I hope that if someone uses the pattern...Post up some pictures, we all love'm. The lining is just some leftover lamb skin I had at home...This holster was never ment to be used, I just used it (the holster that is) as a canvas, just another medium to do some arty stuff on:-) -
*RAFLMAO* and tears running down my cheek...I KNOW what this is all about:-)

I must say that my experience as a very small business for HideHuse is Very nice. I always get good quallity (=what I ordered) and they show up really quickly even if they're sent from CA to MI. I absolutly love their chap sides (3-31/2 oz) and the superb Plonge leather which I use for anything from corsets to lining when I want something beautiful yet duarble..

Hi, If you're into small things I do recomend Pauls knife. I make loads of small intricate patterns and I have the smalles blade in an angle from Leather Wrangler (Paul) This is by far the best I have tried. I have had my knife now for 6 months and so far I have only stroped it, that's all.
-
Well, that looks weird but...Whatever makes the customer happy :-) I'm still so extremly happy with my knife from you that it's almost the only one I use...I did promise you (in Columbus-Ohio) to look into taking some movie clips to you but I cannot find out how too with the camera I'm having, I guess I'm much better at leatherwork than cameras Have a great evening//T
