Love your designs Kevin and they keep getting better and better (and I'm the proud owner of Kevins Gargoyle *S*)
-
Freaking Beautiful, I just Love your stuff Bob...And I'm not even into the traditional patterns *LOL*
-
Naw *LOL* For "those things" I'm strickly using Latigo leather, comes black, shiny and nice:-)
-
Absolute Beautiful work...You should post this in the "Show off" section so nobody misses it:-)

Going to look the next time, thanks for the tip Billsotx:-) Oh, one thing, don't forgett to buy a quart or so of the Reducer, that way you can make almost any shade of the color you have. I also blend them as I wish to get new colors...Ex, yellow + red=orange etc. that way there is no need to get all the colors they have. Just a small tip to save some dollars.

Luke, I think the link I pasted down has at least all the leather dyes and all the leather paints from Angelus. They come in either 4oz or quarts. Rayban, I have bought stuff from that places for a year now and I'm super happy. They deliver quickly and IF something is wrong they make good even quicker.
-
Hi Peter, I only use Angelius, I love the manny vivid colors and they fit my style perfectly. I get them from: www.turtlefeathers.net (I have no connection with the owner for that website besides I buy from them) Good Luck//Tina

Very Cool:-) I Love the way your colors came out too...Great work on this one
-
Thank You William:-) I tell you...Now when I got the hang of doing 2-tone, I even do the 1-color braiding the same way, it's much easier to me (and quicker...Might be an illusion?)

...but think how nice to weigh 80 instead of 176
-
Well, You might be right about the English spelling on that one I have no idea...Where I come from it's Ton (I think actually with a big T but not sure, *hmmmmmm???*) We do learn brittish English in shool (manny, manny, manny, years ago) but i can't remeber much from that time, I'm sure it shows :-)

Just a little tip, take baking paper or similar (to avoid impressions from fabric in the leather), lay the leather grain side down and iron on the flesh side, I usually dont have to hot of an iron, aspecially when it is so thinn as 2oz.

Hi, I really like the game board. it came out so clean, crisp and nice:-)

Any suggestions/advice for a newbie on how to start?

Dead serious:-) I bought the first tools in october last year but I have been doing crafty things all my life, leather was just a new base so to speak. -
I'm with you Roo, I LOVE my metric system that make sense all the way... I try my best to adapt to the American "system" but it's not easy, everything's a mess and you actually have to learn each system one by one (weight, lenght, volume etc) Metric is sooo easy, just 1, 10, 100, 1000 on all types...And a metric ton is of course 1000kg :-)

I can just second on Crystal... So happy everything goes well and wish we could see ya here a wee bit more:-)

Hi and Welcome:-) I started just a wee bit more than a year ago. My path was to read as much as possible from web pages online then I got a basic 7 tool package and one or two books Al Stohlman, like "Leatherwork Manual" and "How to carve leather". That package should get you started. Great Luck to you:-) //Tina -
Awesome Crystal, and I bet that pattern did get you something to do for a while:-)
-
Hi, I read somewhere here that some dogs might be allergic to veg.tan leather and you should not have it closest to their bodys...Check this one out just to be sure.
-
Thanks Ken, I don't take credit for the design, it's Al Stohlmans... Thanks Bob I hope to get much better at things like this in the future...Just need to practise:-)

Just a small little weird thing
Tina replied to Tina's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Well, That is not thee page I got the idea from but thanks for the link. I do not understand the problem it took you to find girly skulls, the idea is all over the Internet, drawn, painted, mostly tattoed and there is a limited way you can draw skulls, pigtails and bows...And the point is? -
