  1. I just added some of his albums to my Amazon list. That was a good song. Thanks. I play Johnson's music quietly when I work in client's homes. He never offends customers no matter their age. Actually, a lot of people ask about the artist. This is one of the songs that speaks to me on the most primal of levels. I interpret it's meaning as a man questioning his worth to the gods, and their answer. It is moving. Enjoy.
  2. Did you burnish or heat the edges?
  3. "It's not really that big of a collection" Famous last words of an addict.
  4. I have been wanting to try them.
  5. Very clean. Is this oil tanned leather?
  6. The really hopeless ones are the guys that get into sewing machine collections. I couldn't imagine filling my tiny house with sewing machines.
  7. Those look great.
  8. Lordy me, someone done got bit by a bug!!!! That is a fabulous looking blade.
  9. Here is a pretty informative link from a local genius. HA!
  10. They'd break it.
  11. Where are you located? If you or anyone else is ever passing through North West Louisiana hit me up. I have lots of pieces available at the house.
  12. Thanks for the compliments. The leathered granite is awesome. It feels so good. I have to rub on it every time I walk by it. The leather finish is achieved by using diamond brushes so it has a smooth rippled effect with a sort of matte finish. It almost feels waxy. I have been pondering taking a piece and applying a leathered finish to some leather with it. I think it will look really cool. On the wood, thanks, but I don't think it would work out any cheaper. I do have family in Dallas and sometimes we make a trip for work, so it'll come together eventually.
  13. If you mean OSB, then yeah, but that wouldn't last in the weather. I set up my cut station outside most of the time. When I get a chance to travel to Dallas maybe I can snag a sheet or two of MDO. In the meantime, here are may tables I built. Here is the pine table I built with dowel and pocket holes. We stained this one and put a piece of leathered finish fantasy brown granite on it. Here is the oak table with m&t construction, linseed oil and quartz top. I used half inch ply for both bottom shelves. And both are within a ⅛ of square across the tops of the frames on diagonal. Enjoy.
  14. Yeah, just try a scrap and see if you can get it off the leather after it does or doesn't work. Maybe try rubber cement instead. Heck, I don't really know, just trying to put another set of eyes on it for ya. Merry Christmas
  15. Just a suitable portable workbench for work. Can't get marine grade or MDO without spending 300 on shipping. With our humidity and rain here I wanted to build it out of one of those.
  16. Chastised??? Every one is offering kindly advice.
  17. Lisa has tutorials but they are pricey. Not that they aren't worth the price, just expensive. She is a very sought after boot maker with lots of talent.
  18. Now if I only had decent materials in town. No one here carries quality plywood.
  19. What do you want in trade for it?
  20. Yeah, but you already got Lee Valley.
  21. I work for a flooring\countertop store. These were for the showroom. I'm like the in-house carpenter, maintenance man, salesman, special projects and whatever He wants guy. I love it. Chas, I don't even want to think about far east joinery. You seen where they attach beams end to end? Crazy stuff.
