  1. Great job and welcome aboard. That stuff is way nicer than what I make.
  2. Where did this come from? Wowsers!!! Nevermind, I went back and read the previous page .
  3. Shoot man, you're off to a great start. My start was just the kitchen table (in the kitchen).
  4. How could he not love it? That is awesome.
  5. Mine just don't seem to get enough zig zag. Maybe I'm just looking too close at it. Or maybe my thread is too big.
  6. I vote horween horse. It smells fantastic.
  7. Happy New Year and welcome aboard, Scott. I always share this with newcomers, if you haven't already seen it. Start in small batches of the same small item. This will give you great yield from your leather while you develop all the techniques. It will give you more time to practice each step. Plus if you botch a few you can keep progressing without starting over.
  8. Great job on both.
  9. Those look great. I am so intimidated by the thought of hand sewing another bag.
  10. I think it looks great. I love that stamp. I think it really brings out that "woven" look.
  11. That fuzzy beast is something to write home about.....
  12. My last wallet has 1oz all the way around. I am loving the flex in the card pockets. That is a perfect looking wallet. I saw you mentioned about the combination of thread, irons, and even awl will make a difference in how everything lays? I thought it was all about getting the sizes together (which is hard enough). Maybe this could be why I'm still not happy with my stitches?
  13. Well, for 4,750.00 you get the DVDs, the book, a pair of custom lasts for your feet, and a two week training course where you make your own boots. That is pretty cool. But you better pack a lunch, because Lisa is not providing it. To be serious for a moment, I really do think this offer is a good deal. She is able to charge $5,000.00 for a pair of her boots. That's the minimum. To have her teach in a class of no more than two students, that would be a real treat. I can't afford it. But I totally see the value in it.
  14. Well, Lisa's DVD is still 850.00. But it is 8 DVDs and a book. I was hoping for an option for streaming.
  15. Big improvement. I didn't know his stuff was available for streaming. His video series used to be up there with Lisa's price range, if I remember correctly.
  16. Thanks, and it is an expensive habit.
  17. My wife is an art teacher and I'm sure she would disagree. We all have at least some creativity buried in us. She is really good at bringing it out in her students.
  18. Love that leather. I keep thinking I'm going to buy something from Arcadia, but I have a lot of stuff laying around already. So, I never get around to making an order.
  19. Nice job. Keep up the good work.
  20. There are definitely some videos worth buying out there. If I was shooting to make this a business I would spend the money on some videos. But staying strictly hobby based, they are beyond reasonable expense. If I was going to venture into boot making, I wouldn't hesitate to buy Lisa Sorrel's videos.
  21. Since we are heading down the road of designing logos, here are a few thoughts... You don't need your name in your logo. It is your brand that people will eventually associate with your company. Think Apple and McDonald's. You want to try to stay in the 2D world and one color. This makes printing paraphernalia easier. The design should be simple. This helps when you enlarge or more importantly shrink down your size. If you have a large difficult design after reducing the size it will become illegible and muddled. King County Leather, here is just a suggestion for a logo. How about putting that crown inside the shape of your county? You could even fit "KCL" inside the crown. Take it all with a grain of salt.
