  1. I really like those. I'm gonna try making a few. Is there one size that seems to be more popular than others? 1" or 1 1/2"? Tom
  2. One is a 1881 Morgan silver dollar The other one is a 1 oz, silver round from the Engelhard Mint. The one with the 1 oz. silver coin of the World Trade Centers on it doesnt show up well at all. I think I need to make a photo booth. I found its cheaper and easier to just buy the buckle kit from Tandy's Dont know how many I goofed up trying to get it just right. As far as the wet molding goes I just drilled a hole in some plexi glass and clamped it. Worked pretty good. Tom
  3. I have tried my hand at whip making and I know its hard work. Tell Doug that is a beautiful peice of work. It inspires me to to keep practicing and working on my braiding so that maybe one day my work might be that beautiful. Tom
  4. Thank you for the compliments everyone. Your comments and critiques mean alot to me. I have learned so very much from all of you. Tom
  5. Looks VERY good. I have a hard time with teeth. Yours turned out great. I have some smaller modeling spoons and tools now so maybe my next one will turn out as good as yours. Tom
  6. I used a Tandy's Antique stain "Dark Brown" and rubbed as much as I could off in the middle. Then I just finished it with Super Sheen and buffed the heck out of it. I like the deer antler clasp too. I had the antlers so at a friends suggestion I gave it a try and it turned out nice. Thank you for the compliments. I'm going to make another one Tom and I believe I will use a dark brown or black lace. Tom
  7. Not sure if you call it a shooters bag or hunter's bag. Oh well, it's a bag. It's 9"x8"x3". Not sure what I'll do with it but it was fun to make and another learning process. My stitching and lacing still need alot of work. All things in time. Tom
  8. LOL. Very impressive work. Being a beginer I can only hope to achive such a level. The folks on this site keep me in awe and inspire me to take my time and try to do the best I can. I know skill comes with time and hard work. Tom
  9. Tell the folks at Rapid City Tandy Leather Factory I said thank you. Does anybody want to start a pool to see how long before I cut myself with it? LOL. Thank you. Tom
  10. The tubes without the top are 6" The top is 4". It can hold a 7" or 8" cigar. Tom
  11. It's glued into to place and seems to be holding well. I used Tandy's leather weld. Tom
  12. Here's the pics of the finished case. Tom
  13. I actually like the way it turned out. I was going for a old kinda been left in the barn kinda look. I dont have a pic of it at the moment but I'll take one tomorrow ans post it. Tom P.S. Just found the pictures under Tree mail in the misc. and pocket items thread.
  14. Thank you. The case turned out nice. I'm happy with it. Tom
  15. I made this out of plywood and I used cove molding for the ribs. I just hot glued them in place. Stuck in some 1/2' PVC pipe and "Presto" Cigar Case. Tom
  16. I just came from AC Moore and they have the IWANA set there for about $100. but if you buy something they usually give you a 50% off coupon for your next visit. The coupon I got today is good for 50% on the 16th of this month so I plan to go back and get the airbrush then. Also they had a wide selection of them from low end to the double action ones. All less than $150.00. Tom
  17. Thanks Rawhide. It's tips posted on the site that help me to improve my skills with leather. Again, thank you so much. Tom
  18. I have been wanting to try my hand at using an airbrush. What kind do you have? I like the way the finish on your pouch turned out. Tom
  19. Thank you for the kind words. The topper was kind of a booger. I should have just made the tube that much longer then cut the top off. The antique finish dind't look like the idea I had in my head but I'm very happy with it. Making those tubes has inspired me on to another project. I'm suppose to be cleaning my bench but I keep finding little peices of leather and think, hummm, wonder what I can do with that. Again thank you for the compliments. Tom
  20. I guess I had to keep making these things till I sorta got it out of my system. Yeah right. Anyways I finally made a three holer for my cigars. The one with the dragon isn't for cigars but I guess you could put one in it. It's about 12" x 1 1/2" I got the dragon from my truck windshield sun screen. I just took a pic of it and used the photo to sketch program. It's all a learning process for me. Still trying to figure out how leather reacts to different things. Tom
  21. I started out with the ugly red one. Which by the way is suppose to be rough looking. It's for the TV show Survivor. A Pirate Treasure Map Tube. A bunch of folks from my brother's Barber Shop get together and hold a Survivor pool. We each throw in $10.00 and if your survivor person wins the million dollars you get the pool money. The white tube is for my cigar. It's rawhide. Not sure what the rest are for. I was on a roll and couldn't stop myself. Tom

    Braided Rope?

Thank you. I had fun making it and also I'm happy with the end result. It was also a learning process. Again, I thank your comments. Tom

    Braided Rope?

They are roughly 12 feet. have to splice as you go. I just skive the ends and use leather weld. Thats some pretty strong stuff. Plus after they are braided over top of each other it's nice and strong. I stagger the splices about 10 or 12 inchs apart. Tom

    Braided Rope?

Thought I'd try my hand at making a rope. Got no use for one just wanted to try it. And besides I like braiding. It's about 16 ft. long. I guess you could use it to rope a goat or something slow. Well anyways, here it is. Tom
  25. Here is a rope I am trying to make. It's coming out good so far. My loop is a little iffy. What am i suppose to put around the loop to protect it? Right now the rope is about 6 ft long. Gonna be about 18 ft when done. Tom
