Cool job! I had this on my list of things to do from the Skiver. Yours turned out great! Storm

Rhonda, No you didn't. Your name seemed familiar to me so I Googled it and came up with rescues wild horse(Very Cool) and there was a class reunion site and they had listed you in Etna and also Santa Rosa. So that is where the SR came from. Used to go out to Sebastapool back in the old days...Mid 70s and go to a pizza place called East of Laguna. Great Pizza and more kinds of beer than a place out to have. There was also a great rib joint called Jessie's Ribs on the road toward Cotati just outside of town. Sad to say that it is not like it used to be and then some. Was up for one day(All I could take) earlier this year. I had set aside a week to shoot photographs and just found my heart wasn't in it. Know this is a long shot but when you lived in Sebastapool did you ever meet someone named Gene Boudreau. He wrote a book back in 1973 called Trails Of The Sierra Madre. Great guy and a good writer. He used to pack in with horses along the top of the Sierra Madre Occidental down in Mexico. I am sorry. HA! Went on a bit long. Have a great 4th of July. Storm

Hi Rhonda, Don't mind Darryl. HA! Although if you hint to him that you see fields of leafy greeness he may sign up to have you take him up into the mountains. LOL! Out of curiosity...how long did you stay in Santa Rosa. Grew up on a ranch just outside of town at the head of the Valley of the Moon. You can answer this when you get back down from the hills. HA! Hope you had a good ride. Storm

Hey Steve, Don't be shy! We all had to start somewhere and there a lot of people here to help ask questions on a variety of topics. We all weren't born right out of the jump off being Al Stohlam or Peter Main or Don King. Give it a go. Storm

Welcome, Darryl's right. I lost one complete set of everything and have just about finished replacing it. Sad thing is that you have a cow on your back. You're Jonesing for more tools to work on newer patterns that you have found. Sure...you tell your wife it is all becasue you want to create a purse for her but way down in your soul you know you are really hoping to...maybe someday...build and tool out an entire western saddle. Alright you don't have a horse yet but you can work on that. LOL! Sure it is addictive. But I can think of far worse things to be addicted to. Before I got my Jack Wrap perfected I must have gone through five or six large bottles of JD. It is a curse but someone has to do it. I used to live in Santa Rosa, just a few miles north of SanFrancisco. Now I live in Southern California. Strom

Hi Paul...Really nice especially the wallet. I like what you did for the interior treatment for the wallet. Love the effect. Storm -

COME ON DARRYL! LOL! I know...come up with a dog collar which supports a small flask of whiskey. You could call it the Boozey Bowser Barrel. Truely could it be said...Man's best friend. All that puppy needs is a little yoke strap with a snap. Cool idea! Storm -
How's it going Rhonda? Welcome to the site. Didn't think they had internet connections in Etna. LOL! Hope to see some of you gear on the site real soon. Storm

There is a possibilty not mentioned. Sure I don't smoke but I still use lighters when I go camping or outdoor cooking. Or just in case of emergencies. What you need to do is come up ith a little leather backpack for Jordan's Zippo! LOL! Storm -
Thanx much, I have always been a fan of Paul's work. Good stuff. Storm

Thanx Indy,Up on just about all you have said. Also got an email from someone at Tandy this morning saying that due to the shake ups there some things are lost or misplaced. Also heard that there was a pair in the Tandy shop in Oregon and have also contacted them via email. Have also emailed out some questions to The International Internet Leathercrafters' Guild, Inc. I figure if we could get ahold of a pair then dismantle and and reverse engineer them. Nothing like scanners and Photoshop to turn the tide. HA! Besides a shoe last would help with the molding part.Thanx again boo,Storm

This is my new Indian Rhino which is still being burned and a visor for the summer sun ahead for all us skull freaks. HA!

Thanx Guys, I took the shots last night. The deerskin was tanned old school and is over 47 years old. You are right Grem...it has maintained its softness and quality for years. I am sorry for not filling in on Runes and I Ching. Thanks Tom! Essentially both are the two oldest and longest lasting forms of divination in the world. In the case of the Runes they went beyond mere divination. As Tom mentioned they could be worn as an amulet of protection and also healing. The Vikings used them to navigate their ships when cloud cover or fog blocked out the stars. They were also a method of writing. One such inscription can still be seen cut into the marble of the Saint Sophia in Istanbul Turkey. It is one Vikings way of saying.."Sven was here." Viking graffiti! The I Ching is older yet and comes originally from China. Around the edge of the Wolf Board you can see all of the Runic symbols combined with the collection of Trigrams which are the Chinese equivalent of the Runes. The book of the I Ching was one of a very few books that survived the great book burning in China around 213BC. Hope that helps. Storm

This is a bag I made from the hide of the first deer I shot when I was 12 years old. It holds my Runes and I Ching gear. The board ith the wold is what I use to cast my Rune stones and old Chinese coins.

I have seen and been awed by your work before. This piece varies some from your usual work but no less sharp and clean. For myself, I find your work to be truely unique and original. It is as if leather design and patterns had taken a whole different direction. Thanks for sharing and I, for one, hope to see much more of your material here on the site. Shalom(Peace), Storm

Thanx to all of you for your insight and suggestion. I would by a not so great pair and take tem apart and use them to create a pattern. I have found some similar but not the same. Thanx, Storm
