  1. Ended up convincing him the belt loop was a good idea. Added as Dwight described.
  2. Thanks Dwight, we discussed a belt keeper and he voted against it. I think it's a good idea, but we'll see. Also not a big fan of elastic, but he saw and old rig that had it and thought it was needed. I had it around from suspenders. Not really a bad thing though, all considered. Constructive thoughts that are appreciated. Thank you.
  3. My neighbor asked me to make a shoulder holster for his S&W Tactical 40. I have been avoiding these things, but, it was time to bite the bullet and try one. HO 8/9 for the holster, HO 5/6 for the rest, doubled on the bottom part. 277 bonded nylon throughout, resolene 50/50 on all. Nowhere near perfect, but I think it's a pretty good start. The conchos allow for some movement between the top and bottom. Big shout out to J.Roscoe shoulder holsters for the idea of the conchos. Still a ways to go. I compressed the photos, but still could only load 2. And that's 1in elastic across the back.
  4. Pretty cool. The zombie apocalypse is nearer than you think!
  5. Love the contrast. This is going to cause you (and probably me) a lot of thought on how else to use that technique.
  6. Welcome to the addiction! I agree with all of the above. We've all been there.
  7. Very nice all around!
  8. Leatherstampmaker.com. made a few for me and the local golf courses. Supporter of the forums too.
  9. The Concho is attached with a screw, much like a Chicago screw. I add loctite.
  10. Yep, and I was having an adult beverage at the time I was taking the pics. Space Dust, pretty good IPA.
  11. I made a couple of these a couple of years ago for a couple.... they had sig 380s, and wanted to be discrete. With hot weather coming, I'm tired of wearing an outer shirt to cover my pistol. This is a plain trial piece for my ruger lcp with a crimson trace laser. And yes, it is empty! 8/9 oz HO Belt clip 277 top and bottom, cobra class 3 Fiebings dark brown L20 snaps. (May try a single ptd 24 on the next one) 50/50 resolene/ water
  12. I built a few of these for golf buddies. Pretty simple, but turned out to be very popular. This one is for retired Air Force buddie who has a friend that is a one star general. Went with conchos so we could add a second if needed. Check out conchos.com. found them looking for this concho. Pretty cool.
  13. Pretty darn nice!
  14. Thanks guys. I decided I would just buy a metal stamped star, and use that and some oven hardening clay to make a stamp. But ultimately decided on conchos because I guess there is hope of a second star in the future. Going with conchos gives me the ability to add one at a later date regardless of the finish. Thanks again for all the ideas. I tell my wife this is why we buy all these toys! Now I really want a laser!
  15. I have been making a few golf score card holders. I have a request to make one for a one star general. I would like to find, or have made a 1 1/4 in embossing die without breaking the bank. Derlin, plastic, even wood would be fine. Any ideas. Anyone with a laser or cnc out there willing to work with me?
  16. Might have to try one of those. Neat idea!
  17. Very well done.
  18. Very nice!
  19. benlilly1 uses stamp letters from Turner laser works for her dog collars. They look great and I don't remember them being terribly expensive. Check it out.
  20. When my wife does that on her quilts it's called binding.
  21. Thanks, I'll look into it.
  22. I have a Pfaff 130 I picked up a couple of years ago. It came in an after market plastic case that has given up the ghost. I would really like a table I could use it on. The dang thing is so heavy it's hard to use in the case. Any ideas?
  23. Thank you.
  24. Thank you!
