  1. Nice work! I have built several of these, recently, 4 smaller ones to fit across the drawer in my carving desk.
  2. Nice job! Not really a fan either, but, not my circus, not my monkey.

    My first holster

    First one's tough. Good job!
  5. I do like me some Oak leaves! Nice work.
  6. I've made quite a few of those! Who would've believed the different methods of making an oval.

    bear gun

I have done several holsters for NAAs. Pocket, iwb mostly. I carry an lcp a lot, usually in a pancake, but have a pocket sleeve for winter. The little gun you have beats the one you left at home by a mile. Nice looking Chuck.
  8. I like those shorter dividers. Might have to look him up. The last punch I bought from Osborne I sent back as unusable. Very disappointed.
  9. I have about $50 in this one. I bought the motor, a dual shaft Emerson Electric Manufacturing Company (God knows how old) for $10 at a garage sale. It had 2 Sears and Roebucks arbors on it, and several wheels, buffing and wire. I ran an ad on next-door for wood turners and gave the man one of the arbors and he turned the the burnisher for a $40 donation to one of the local charities. Works great and is dang near silent! The point on the end is great for belt slots etc.. I made the mount. Don't have anything on the left due to space.
  10. Yes J, they come out very nicely. You put your finger on the business end and lift up and they pop right up. Please understand that I used an under sized punch (5/16) top and bottom. Then wet the leather, then forced the rounds in. I let this dry, then oiled it, then replaced the rounds. The flaps are to ensure the rounds stay in place in the future. It has dried for several days now, and I still have to use a bit of force to get the rounds in. Dang sure a lot easier than loops. Wouldn't work on a cowboy rig though.
  11. I make several items for our local golf course (I live on #3!). I recently did a bunch (420!) Coasters for a tournament, sand bottle holders, ball markers, etc. Our assistant pro recently asked me if I could come up witha score card holder. After burning through a bunch of scrap I found again that simple is just the best way sometimes when working with leather. This is 8/9oz HO that I skived at the fold. No sewing other than to attatch the leather to the elastic.
  12. Very nice work and thank you for the explaining process. I'm going to be trying that in the near future.
  13. Thank you all. I did not put any leather on the front of the gun. That is a typical mount for a 30/30 tube he bought off Amazon. It clamps over the tube very securely and does not cause any deformity. It is for a standard 1" sling.
  14. I have a logo made by Leatherstampmaker.com. They are a supporter of the forum. I then use a key fob die and stamp and cut basically key fobs out of scrap and use a sticky label on it for the price. I know it seems like a lot but it is pretty cool and I can do a bunch in no time.
  15. So anyway, I was not happy with the way I was getting reloads for my revolvers. After looking at this butt wrap idea,I thought why not make a 6 pack for pistol rds? Along the same lines, here we are. If there is interest, I will gladly share. It is so simple, it can't be new. But, the rds are captured, and cannot escape. It is very simple to make. Hope you can use this.
  16. OK, not Bud Light. I have a young man that is a timber cruiser up here in the Great Pacific North West. I made a chest rig for him a year or so ago for a S&W 686 in 44mag. 6"barrel. He loves the thing. Says he wears it 6 to 12 hrs a day in the woods and can't imagine any other way he could wear it. Understand, up here we have bears, and cougars. And he is in the deep woods, not at a campground. Last deer season, he bought an older Marlin 30/30 with a 4x scope and asked if I could make him a sling. After some discussion , we came up with a simple design with a 1" 8/9 oz HO strap with a 2" wide adjustable shoulder pad so he could move it around to suit the situation. By this time I had made his girlfriend a holster for her glock, a belt to put it on, a belt for him, and then, there's the in laws. Needless to say he and his are favored customers. And as such, I call on him when I want to try something. When he bought the rig for the 44, he wanted a reload. All i could think of was a 6 rd belt loop. He liked and a way he went. I was just not very happy with it. It was good work, just so long! It took up a lot of belt space! Anyway, he asks me if I can come up with reloads for the 30/30 on a butt wrap. Never done this, so I ask him to bring it over and I'll see what I can do. Lots of time later, I've come up with a working butt wrap. It's plain, but this is a tool, for this young man, not a collector's piece. I know I need to work on my lacing, but, he's ok with that. I'm trying something outside my box. All that said, I struggled with coming up with a good way to put 6 rds of 30/30 in a butt wrap a d so many had complex loops and stuff. I have done belt loops, and am honestly not a big fan.so this is what I did. See the pictures. I cannot believe it to be original, but love the simplicity. Then, he has a 44 mag. Next post.

    CCW/cell phone

Going to reserve comment until I see the finished product. I've also done the box/pouch thing with a flap that snaps shut, but when it's open you can access the weapon. Looking forward to seeing the finished item.
  18. Yes, very nice. I do quite a few sheaths. I keep them simple, but think I will be adding a touch around the edges. Thank you for the idea.
  19. I think it's pretty dang cool! Yeah I see some nitpicking things I would do different, but, not very many. Just think how cool the next one will be. I still haven't tried a cowboy rig. Nice job!
