  1. Usually the screw is in there & that's what makes it tight, but since it's missing then Yes you just need to force it backwards harder, remember it was a pretty strong force forward that made this happen.Do be afraid you won't hurt anything by going backwards since it jammed forward & your stuck on the long stitch length.Take the belt off hold the button & it'll hold itself & get both hands on it.
  2. Yes,it should sew up to around a total of 20oz or 5/15" thick
  3. You just have to get the cover on it & get the plunger in the groove & force the handwheel backwards (to shorten the stitch) as hard a you can & it will work again. !
  4. It is jammed against the stop screw take the cover off over the stitch length & loosen the large screw & it should unjam it for you.
  5. The Lockstich needles might work in this machine BUT,it isn't a lockstitch machine,it makes a chainstitch. HTH
  6. Hey Colt, Congrats on the Honeymoon!! Anytime you have a question feel free to give us a call. Our motor has a brake in it that is on when your foot is off the pedal,so yes you'll have to push the pedal down alittle to release it,then the machine will turn by hand.Once you get used to it though you can press real lightly & stop the needle wherever you want it to be.The belts need to be as tight as they need to be or they'll slip when you start sewing thick. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Thanks, Bob
  7. Check to see how much lost movement you have in the vertical lifting rod on the back, you might just need to raise the pad on the knee lifter where it pushes on the rod.It is underneath real close to the motor.
  8. We have them in Organ brand.
  9. You might want to double check your measurement it might be close to 5/8 which is 0.6250 & 15 mm is 0.5906 which is the diameter on most new servos. If there's a nut to hold the pulley on then it should be the 15mm.
  10. Sure you can use the leather needle & it will sew it ok BUT it can damage(cut) the threads in the material @ the hole that the needle makes. That's why we always recommend a round point needle for canvas & vinyl.
  11. Try the bobbin case from your Singer 241 in it,it should work.We stock them.
  12. Yes,it's a walking foot machine but you will have trouble finding any parts for it.The manuafacture of this machine closed years ago & Consew doesn't have any part either.
  13. Welcome to the group,I've been through the thriving metropolis of Pierpont many times yrs ago on the way to service a Canvas shop in Conneautville, along w/some Amish leather shops in your area.Do you know of Millers Leather? He's Amish up by Bushnell he might have some scraps of leather to sell if you need any
  14. Sometimes people think the feed dog underneath is a walking foot.A walking foot machine has 2-upper feet a narrow inside the needle goes through & a wider outside one..
  15. The 463 Pfaff is not a walking foot machine,it is a tailor, dressmaking type of machine for lightweight materials.
  16. Yes,it's best to leave them on ,the larger one is almost impossible to get off w/o ruining it.I've used a wood chisel to get under them but as treasure said it is a lot easier to mask them & cut around w/a razor blade or exacto knife, then you won't be shopping for replacements,LOL!
  17. We always put the 135x17 needle in a 331k5,if it is set up for the 16x63 that is a longer needle & the 135x17 will work better since it has a scarf in it that the 16x63 doesn't.You will just need to lower the needlebar alittle to compensate.
  18. Looks perfect,so what did you do?
  19. Yes,he's on this site,maybe he'll chime in?
  20. The Juki 471 is more suitable for sewing nylon webbing since it has lower feed dogs & teeth on the upper feet (which could be ground off BUT you still have the bottom feed dogs w/teeth that can mark the bottom of the leather) The 441's can be fitted w/a smooth feed dog that won't mar since it has a needle feed.
  21. Try Shop Talk www.shoptalk-magazine.com for one.
  22. Have you checked w/a voltmeter that your getting voltage on 2 of the wires?
  23. Nylon should work as long as your machine is in good shape to sew it.You might want to look around the outside of the hook(the piece of tin held on with 4 screws),the needle can hit it & put nicks in it.
  24. How does the hole look in the needle plate? They can get chewed up pretty easy from needles hitting it.
