  1. Yes,it's a walking foot machine but you will have trouble finding any parts for it.The manuafacture of this machine closed years ago & Consew doesn't have any part either.
  2. A lot of hardwork there,sure looks GREAT !!
  3. Welcome to the group,I've been through the thriving metropolis of Pierpont many times yrs ago on the way to service a Canvas shop in Conneautville, along w/some Amish leather shops in your area.Do you know of Millers Leather? He's Amish up by Bushnell he might have some scraps of leather to sell if you need any
  4. Sometimes people think the feed dog underneath is a walking foot.A walking foot machine has 2-upper feet a narrow inside the needle goes through & a wider outside one..
  5. The 463 Pfaff is not a walking foot machine,it is a tailor, dressmaking type of machine for lightweight materials.
  6. Yes,it's best to leave them on ,the larger one is almost impossible to get off w/o ruining it.I've used a wood chisel to get under them but as treasure said it is a lot easier to mask them & cut around w/a razor blade or exacto knife, then you won't be shopping for replacements,LOL!
  7. We always put the 135x17 needle in a 331k5,if it is set up for the 16x63 that is a longer needle & the 135x17 will work better since it has a scarf in it that the 16x63 doesn't.You will just need to lower the needlebar alittle to compensate.
  8. Looks perfect,so what did you do?
  9. Yes,he's on this site,maybe he'll chime in?
  10. The Juki 471 is more suitable for sewing nylon webbing since it has lower feed dogs & teeth on the upper feet (which could be ground off BUT you still have the bottom feed dogs w/teeth that can mark the bottom of the leather) The 441's can be fitted w/a smooth feed dog that won't mar since it has a needle feed.
  11. Try Shop Talk www.shoptalk-magazine.com for one.
  12. Have you checked w/a voltmeter that your getting voltage on 2 of the wires?
  13. Nylon should work as long as your machine is in good shape to sew it.You might want to look around the outside of the hook(the piece of tin held on with 4 screws),the needle can hit it & put nicks in it.
  14. How does the hole look in the needle plate? They can get chewed up pretty easy from needles hitting it.
  15. You could get some dirt under the feed dog causing it to tilt? Also check that it isn't bent. How about the top pressure foot does it come down straight?
  16. Maybe this will help?
  17. Hello Elizabeth, Welcome to the forum & the leather sewing business. We also look forward to help you with a servo motor & anything else you might need.We have a lot of machines for you to come down & drool over on our showroom floor.LOL
  18. Another one from the Buckeye,Welcome aboard here & it looks like your doing a great job carving already!!
  19. I found the 332LGLR in sizes 18,2022,23 they should be here in a couple of days.
  20. Wow,Shoe System gets $7.50 a pk & they aren't even leather point.
  21. Looks pretty good, but if you had the 207 in the bobbin it would hide the knot better.
  22. Yes,it's looking better BUT ,I always tell people when your checking tension to make sure your leather is thick enough for the thread,so you should try the larger thread on 2 layers or the thickness of the project you plan to sew.And practice alittle on that thickness before you try sewing on a piece that has tooling & is cut to size,it a lot easier than pulling out stitches or possibly having to start over. You can see that's why the 277 & 207 combo looks better than the 277 & 277 the thinner thread on the bobbin helps to hide the thread therefore making your stitch look better as you get into thicker the 277 & 277 will look better.I know a lot of people always run a size smaller in the bobbin when they are sewing on thinner leather.277 is best when your around 3/8" & thicker the knot hides better.
  23. The head weighs 123Lbs.or almost 56 Kgs. I wouldn't run it too fast, not over 600 st pr min & keep it oiled because parts will be very hard to find. Here's a pic of the one we have.
