  1. Looking good there Jason, the more you practice the better it'll get!
  2. Look @ the parts list above it is # 82167 the stitch length goes on both sides of it.
  3. Yes,they should open either by hand or foot lift, that way the tension is released & you can pull the material out.
  4. There should be 2-chrome buttons on the bed of the machine, the one on the left is for stitch length, the one on the right is the one for the clutch,It's best to take the motor belt off, push this button down & turn the handwheel backwards until it make a loud snapping noise, then it will be in gear. You need to be sure to thread it correctly ,hold on to the needle thread the first 3-4 stitches ,don't sew off the material & this won't happen again. I'm pretty sure there's some vids on youtube showing how to do this too.Singer 111w,Juki 562,563 is the same as your Consew if you can't find one on Consew. They also show you threading & oiling.
  5. Hey Jason, that looks pretty darn good !!
  6. Give me a call tomorrow,I'll be in the shop from 7-1 eastern time.
  7. Hey Jason,It was great to meet you today,I'm glad to see you made it home & are ready to start stitching up some leather.Be sure to show us what you made. Thanks for choosing Cowboy
  8. If it's ordered earlier in the day it goes out the same day.
  9. We always use the notch that runs from the center instead of the hole.
  10. Do not tighten the screw, also don't oil this area where the grooves are.The piece w/a screw in it is supposed to grip the shaft when the plunger pushes the arm up.So put the spring on top of the arm & if there's no oil on the shafy iy should pinch the shaft & lift the foot when it's supposed to,if not then tighten the screw just a little until it grips & lifts the shaft.
  11. When some places get parts they don't know how long they are supposed to be.They order the part it comes in for the # they gave & they ship them out.It has happened to us so we try to check parts before we ship.I've NEVER heard of any 441 type of machine taking a bobbin any longer than standard. The 441 bobbins are all the same length from Cowboy,Cobra,Techsew & Juki.
  12. We now have #277poly in red, orange, light & dark blue, green, yellow.turquoise, silver, pink, purple & burgundy on spools w/300 meters (328 yds) for $8.00ea,we also stock#277 in black,white,off-white,light,medium & dark brown on 1-Lb spools for $18.00 ea in Nylon or $20.00 ea in polyester.
  13. Another problem w/a shoe patcher is you can't use thread on a 29-4 any bigger than #92 which will work on wallets but no for holsters. As Big Souix mentioned the machine will leave teeth marks on top of the leather that sometimes are pretty hard to cov er up.
  14. I found quite by accident that if I backed off the tension screw for the bobbin thread, it actually increased the tension a bit That can happen if it's overtightened because the tension spring can bow in the middle.
  15. How does the timing belt look?Alot of these will start cracking & end up breaking when put into use. Here's an easy to operate motor like Uwe was talking about that we sell that has brushes a lot of torque & is a lot easy to adjust than the brushless type. http://www.tolindsewmach.com/motors.html
  16. The best way to find out is bring some leather & we'll try it out,the 6 oz & we can try it on the CB3500,I'm sure it'll work w/the #138 thread on the bags & then you'll also have it for the heavier leather too.We do have both machines on the floor ready to go.Your more than welcome to come in anytime during our normal business hours 8-4 during the week & Sat 8-12.
  17. Yes,it should sew close to a total of 20oz of leather. You'll need to use #69 thread to sew the 2-3 oz & maybe even loosen the tension alittle but it should handle that too. What is nice about this machine is we have all the parts, screws, feet, needles & etc in stock for it.
  18. I have a customer that has bought at least 5 of our little 550 watt Family-Sew motors & mounted them on Landis#12,so a 1000w would surely work.
  19. Wiz,do you notice a difference in the way the slow speed operates as you push on the pedal? Also did the brushless ones you have make a noise?
  20. We have some that have hardened blades on them that seem to last a long time for$2.00 ea.Or $20.00 a Dz.we have a lot of repeat customers on them too.
  21. Looks pretty nice to me,excellent stitching & tooling too!! Great job!
  22. Yes,the brushes seem to last a long time,IDK of anyone who's had to change them yet & we have a lot of people using them.It comes w/a extra set of brushes & the brush covers are on the outside & might takes 1-minute each to change IF or when needed. But there is a lot of brushless motors out there to choose from.
