  1. @Wiz,didn't some of the servos I sold you yrs ago with the digital readout do that?
  2. The 135x17 or 135x16D (for leather) are the same length as the 16x99 & 100.I can't seem to find any welt feet anymore BUT do have some standard flat feet in stock. Have you seen this yet?http://parts.singerco.com/IPpartCharts/78-1.pdf
  3. The problem with alot of the older needles is the eye in the needle are smaller than the newer ones,so you might have to bump up a size or two so the eye of the needle is large enough for the thread you want to use.The easiest way to check is thread the needle through a piece of thread & hold it vertical & see if it slides down the thread w/o hanging up,if it does then it'll work.
  4. Yes,the Consew 205 is the same as this except the 337 doesn't have an oil pump.We used to sell these years ago ,be careful not to jam it up,unless they've been replaced(which they probably have by now)the hook gears tend to break pretty easy . y
  5. Here's the screw you need to tighten just a little at a time until it holds.
  6. Yes,it would be good for lighter leathersup to 20 oz.,about 10yrs ago I bought 20 of them from a warehouse & found it they hold up a lot better than they look. They take standard needles, bobbins , bobbincases & feet.
  7. Yes,it was a spring loaded foot that walks back with the feed dog & then the spring piushed it forward as the needle pulls out of the material. It should sew over 20 oz of leather 5/16" depending on the leather. Yes,you can put a servo on it. We do stock a lot of parts for it too.
  8. I did similar to what Dwight.I built a 30x56 building w/large rollup door on leftside, small 36"door on right w/one window on the front & 2-on the sides & built a 14x40 shop inside of it w/6"insulation on top & 4"sidewalls,I have a gas furnace(50,000 btu) in it,but this winter I put a small electric(look like a radiator heater) set it on low & it keeps the chill off & prevents condensation. What's nice is the storage on the top of the room.Oh,and I put a sliding door on the side 7'x8' in case I want to work on a car.
  9. Some leathers do this more than others & a smaller needle & thread would make it look better since it will slice through with less force.
  10. Wiz,I hate to hijack this thread but since needles came up I been meaning to ask how you like those 135x16 S points I sent you? I think the stich would look real nice on wallets?
  11. You can loosen the pressure on the foot & buff(sand) the feed dog,a smaller pulley will help slow it down. Here's a needle & thread charthttp://www.tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html
  12. Are you sure your going around the 2nd tension on the side 1& 1/2x?
  13. Maybe I should of added to just put it in the bearing or bearings that might be gummed up as it will dissolve the old oil.
  14. Some WD40 or some other type of penetrate will or should cut through the old oil, then use regular sewing machine oil after that.
  15. Oil all the way around the groove the bobbincase sets in,then you should be able to turn it counter-clockwise to get the thread out, once in a while you can use a screwdriver & tap on the tab lightly to break it loose,(counter-clockwise only).
  16. Here's a manual for a Singer 29K70 which operates the same,we do stock all the needles, bobbins, parts & thread for this machine. http://parts.singerco.com/IPinstManuals/29K70.pdf
  17. To adjust the foot timing adjust the cam on the top shaft behind the slotted adjuster. You have to loosen the 2-screws(leave one snug so it doesn't spin) rotate until it's feeding correctly with the inside foot coming down & touch the leather as the needle goes in it.
  18. People don't seem to be collecting them like they used to & I would estimate if the cabinet is real nice you MIGHT be lucky to get $150.00 usually $50-75.00 for average condition.
  19. The wick your talking about is for thread lube, which you probably don't need unless your sewing real fast & or heavy material. Here's a operators manual for your machine. Singer 211 Operators Guide-Small.pdf
  20. There's locknut(ring) for when you adjust the foot pressure, loosen that & see what happens. Also have you ever taken the side cover off & oil everything in there including the top & lower part of this bar?
  21. It should bring around $1,000.00,there's not much to go wrong other than getting broken in shipment. The blade will need to be sharpened ,oil it up & split away!
  22. Hey Ken,I'm glad that you didn't have to make the trip too!
  23. @bikermutt07Your Welcome, do you want to be the first guy in LA that bought one?
  24. Your Welcome & if your ever in the neighborhood stop in we have a lot of New & Old machines, thread & etc to look at.
  25. Ok,the sizes they have are 3/32,1/8,5/32,3/16,1/4,5/16 & 3/8
