Best base setup for table mount antique machine

You can make a table top real easy out of a 4x8 plywood,cut it in half,glue it & put some wood screws underneath,cut out of the machine & then you can finish the top w/stain & some polyurethane . -
Yes,it would be easy to make one out of leather make sure it's flat when you mount it & glue it in,cork would work tooo might be easier to cut.There used be a couple sizes of these pads available but it's alittle cheaper just to make it if you can.

You would think they would know better than to polish the threads !! That's as bad as people that get an old machine & want to (re-store) it so they strip all apart,break & or lose a few things & then call us to help bail them out,I sure wished these parts were available but most have been dis-continued yrs ago.When it would of been better just to clean it up the best you can & use it with the dirt inside it. "If it ain't broke don't fix it!"

Yes both the needles & leather can affect the look,see the samples we just made.

Well the price will be $1,295.00 + shpg.I haven't had my hands on one yet , but will by the end of this month.Yes.it's not a machine for everyone, BUT we get a lot of calls for hand stitchers.Some people want one to go to shows with or don't have the room for a standard type machine w/a table. Yes,it looks very similar to the other handcrank BUT it's made of cast-iron & steel gears & there's some other improvements too.So it will be more user friendly. Due to the heavier construction it weighs 50Lbs & still light enough to be portable. -
Are you sure the long groove of the needle is one the leftside? What JSL technique were you doing?

No,the feet I can get are #36253 outside 野 inside.That part #3 you have is a thread guide & should be there,a standard 3-hole one will work since you can't get that one anymore.

Yes,that can be welded JB would never hold.You can either have it brazed or electric welded. OR you could patch it with a piece of steel plate underneath it,matching the contour of the casting ,drill some holes & use some small bolts & nuts (it won't be look pretty) but will work if done correctly

If you go behind the machine,,open the plate just to the left of where the foot lift chain fastens on.

Anyone familiar with Singer 72W19 industrial?

From your pics it looks like a standard onmodified 72w19.It is made to sew real thin materials like chiffon & fine tapestries I don't know what they would be doing with this machine sewing shoe uppers. -
Here's an Adler we welded with electric & nickle rod,we ground the welded part thinner,pre-heated welded an inch peened it ,kept it hot & weled more & it's still holding after 10yrs. welded Adler.pdf

I would recommend(for future reference) if you use #207 on top to use #138 in the bobbin,it is hard for these machines with this type of hook to pull the bobbin thread into the material for a better looking stitch,so the smaller thread is needed in the bobbin.

Yes,it does hemstitching,you might want to look on utube for some videos.We do stock needles & bobbins for them.
