Johan, nice stuff, I'll have to stop in and check them out in person, I really think the yellow/red pattern would look cool in a motorcycle solo seat.

Beautiful Seat! Well deserved!! -
Great seat as always!!!

OK, I sold my first seat and shipped it out and was reading about waterproofing and final finishes on another thread here and now I'm not sure I got the correct info on protecting the seat and I don't want the customer to wash his bike or get caught in the rain and color starts to run off of the seat or soak into his pants or something. I used Eco-flo Gel Antiques for the color and then applied 4 coats of Dr. Jackson's Hide Rejuvenator to the seat as a final topcoat. Will this provide enough protection? If not I need to get something to send to him to apply to the seat to protect it and what should that be. I hate being a newbie, Help!

Looks Great!

I'm working on my next motorcycle seat and having a bit of an issue casing the leather. I'm using a sponge and plenty of water as I have all the other times, but this piece of leather doesn't case very well, it acts as though there is some kind of protection on the leather and the water kind of beads up in a few areas. I can get it cased enough to use the swival knife on it, but not sure how it will react to tooling. Is there something I can do to it before I start tooling to try and correct this? Any idea's why it's doing it? It's 6-7 oz. vegtanned leather from Tandy.

My second motorcycle seat is almost done

Thanks! I used tan antique as the main color and applied it with a clean rag, then used a rag and wool dauber and applied the darker edge. It was tough, I had to go back and forth with a dry rag, then a damp one and then a duaber, finally got it mixed so it looked good. I struggle with applying color. -
That's Cool, did you wet form it?

I'm shipping a solo seat and was wondering what precautions I need to take when packing it up? You guys wrap your seats in anything before you pack it in the shipping box? Do you include and care tips?

Thanks for the kind words. TinyL, it's the Superior 1/8th tan lace from Tandy and yes it's Mexican BasketWeave, -
Well, I only have the final protective finish left, but wanted to post up my second bike seat I finished this week. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the kind words. Sasquach I used 3 coats of Super Sheen on the Koi and letters. Troy I tried using just one coat Satin sheen on the edges of the waves to get some more contrast in the waves, but they turned out splotchy, so I had to use Acetone on it to remove the Satin Sheen and re-apply the stain, any other idea's? Rayban, not sure how the lacing holds up. Again, thanks for the kind words, it means a lot coming from you guys (and Gals)
