  1. So what did the machine sell for? Did you get it?
  2. I haven't sewn any leather yet, but the awl sure goes through a thumb nail pretty easily. What a silly and stupid mistake.
  3. Just at a quick glance, it seems you forgot a dimension pertaining to the material thickness or gauge.
  4. Hello, That looks very close to a decorative loop staple. Here is a link: http://www.standardrivet.com/rivets-staples/rivet-staples/36-rivet-staples.php
  5. I stand corrected on the placement of the bobbin case. It is clocked correctly in the last picture of it.
  6. Hello, I know where some really good deals are sitting in barns, but you are a long way from Ohio.
  7. Well I got the machine cleaned up. Man was that a pain in the butt. I degreased it first and took it to the local car wash and hosed it down, brought it home and blew it off. I then sprayed it down with royal purple full strength and repeated the car wash. The machine is now spotless and oiled. The machine believe it or not is very tight and does not need rebuilt. I tried to sew with today with no success. I'm sure this my lack of knowledge of the machine. I will try again tomorrow.
  8. Did you get it sewing yet? I did notice that your bottom thread is not correct and also the placement of the bobbin case, which should place itself when the machine turns over. That's if it doesnt bind the machine.
  9. Look for a higher amperage motor.
  10. Oh can you please share in your processes of cleaning it up? I am going to be doing the same thing to a Champion wide throat really soon. Thanks!
  11. Looks really great! Super job! I did notice one piece that needs brazed or something. The thread looper is almost wore through. That's a nice looking foot too. Did you make it?
  12. Hello, I have a 211G166 and the presser foot lifts a little above a half of an inch and it has reverse. Mine will sew an honest half of an inch. What is the rest of the numbers on the machine? I did change the bobbin case and a few parts to make the machine have a large bobbin. I also put on a homemade speed reducer to slow her down quite a bit. It will sew chaps all day. I do not know about sewing mc bags though. It will not sew the ones that I make. I don't sew them anyway, I lace them. They are really nice machines, some came with a large bobbin.
  13. I have a repair manual for the Consew 226, so I now they exist. I do not want to part with it and I think it is too thick to have copied.
  14. Mooshi, What will you be sewing? If you will be sewing leather any thicker than chap leather, you really should get a needle and awl machine. The eyed needle machines really have an ugly bottom stitch in leather and are not really suited for leather horse harness. I also have not seen any new machines with attachments that put the stitch under the surface of the leather on the bottom side. This is very important when making equine products. Weaver sells Adlers, but do not use them to sew their leather products, they use Union Lockstitch needle and awl machines.
  15. Hello, I am looking for a Keystone or Spitzer skiving machine. I am also looking for original Singer sewing needles, 794 size 24 and up. These are the wedge point leather needles. Thanks! Ryan
  16. Hello, Has anyone rebuilt one of these machines before? I would like to know what the problem areas are and what really to look for. I know there are no parts available for these machines. I will have to make them. I do have some new old stock parts for it, bobbin cases and needle bars. Also can anyone enlighten me on the differences between the upper tensions on the wide throat and the narrow throat machine? I have heard that the narrow throat has a positive lock tension, but not all wide throats did. Not sure what they look like. I would like to have a Randall machine, but it is not feasible to buy one at this time. I however, need a needle and awl machine to make some harness parts. Thanks a bunch! Ryan
  17. A 111w100 is not a walking foot machine and is a needle feed machine. Not all 111w's were walking feet machines. Here is the proof for ya: http://parts.singerc...als/111W100.pdf And: http://www.industrialsewmachine.com/webdoc1/used/used-singers/111w.htm
  18. Did the machine stitch well for you?
  19. I am looking for used styles of feet. thanks
  20. Hello, Toledo Industrial Sewing machine has them. 866-362-7397 They look to be the same feet as a Singer 111w100. I would put a roller foot on it.
  21. This machine is now sold for the magical price of $300.00. You all could have had a cheap machine.
  22. Hello, Are you referring to corner stitching? I have been wondering the same thing. Here is a link for the Cambell machine sewing box lids. This is all I know. http://www.campbell-bosworth.com/articles/Corner-Stitching.pdf
  23. Thanks for the great response! The only thing I thought was a crock, was if you had to return the machine plus $3500.00 to rebuild it. You will be getting a phone call very soon on a serial number. Thanks again.
  24. You are the one that made the huge duffel bag aren't you? lol When stitching up "another" duffle type bag
  25. What are these machines selling for in good working order? I know what they are and what they do, just do not know what they are worth. Head only. Thanks!
