  1. It kind of looks like mahogany but it seems to have a bit more yellow to it. The attached photos are of the exact same holster and was done with Fiebing's Mahogany (not thinned). Really hard to tell though. Lighting when photographing can make a huge difference in what color something looks. One photo was taken outside (the redder looking one) and one was taken in a photo box. The true color when looking at it in person is somewhere in between those two colors but closer to the darker one than the lighter one.

    Welcome drasbell!
  3. Thank you! @battlemunky They seem to be holding up just fine so far. That was the one and only bag I used ez rivets alone for attaching things. I've since been sewing everything because they do sometimes not seat correctly and pull off. When I made my first belt I used ez rivets and quickly learned that they don't always stay set on things that will endure pressure. I've haven't tried burr rivets yet but they are on my list to learn how to use.
  4. Thank you! It was a pretty big project and it did test my resolve but in the end it was one of the projects I did back then that finalized my decision about working with leather. It's an addiction!
  5. Thank you! @JKHelms and @TDragon Time frame was about 5 days taking long breaks in between all that hand stitching.
  6. When I first started learning leather work, about a couple of months in I got the brilliant idea to tool a desk pad. Aside from the fact that I didn't antique it which it really needs, it was a hugely long project not fit for a beginner. Things like finished rounded corners, consistent nice stitching, antiquing and maybe a better design layout would have been obvious if I'd have gotten a little more leather and tooling practice under my belt before I attempted such a large project. The desk pad is about 24 x 18. It was a gift and was graciously accepted, but after more experience the flaws are obvious. I don't regret doing it then but now I do wish I would have waited for more experience before I attempted it.
  7. I made this last year. It was my first satchel attempt. I learned a lot from it. It has a full width pocket and two other pockets on the front and a full width pocket on the back. The interior was not lined and no pockets were added inside.
  8. This is a satchel I made I little while back. I can't remember what the leather is but it was nubuck like. Soft and plush. It has two full width/depth pockets on the inside and two pockets on the front of the outside. It has snap closer straps instead of the standard buckle snaps. The strap is adjustable from 31 inches to 51 inches via the brass slide. It was the second satchel I've made.
  9. There is an Etsy store that has #1058. https://www.etsy.com/listing/628267522/125ml-edge-paint-by-giardini-maxxmatt Owner of the store (22NorthLeather) is located in Hong Kong.
  10. I am not sure about that seat but I have had leather crack on me. This wallet cracked before I had finished it. I chalked it up to bad leather. There was no wet forming involved.
  11. Thank you. The color turned out really nice.
  12. I'm sitting with a plugin update for Contact Form and it says "Compatibility with WordPress 5.0.2: Unknown". Now why would I update that with that kind of message? d'oh. I agree on the old days. We built sites locally, fully tested them, and then uploaded them when we knew they worked. As for the new 'editor', blah.
  13. dikman, It's a pretty simple machine, simple software, and works within 10 minutes out of the box as well as inexpensive by comparison to other models. It's only about 6 x 6 outside dimensions and prints about 3 x 3 inches max. Has a fan for cooling and takes on average about 2 minutes per personalization.
  14. That is a really nice cover. Both sides are beautiful. That border stamping is something to be proud of too. So straight and fits perfectly.
  15. Wow! Really nice! Did you use a lifter under the flower petals and leaves? Great Sheridan style design work, background work, and knife work.
  16. I do get a bit of it. So far the key fobs and mouse pads mostly but I am thinking of offering personalizations on wallets and other things I make. Seems to be a popular option. The mousepads I personalized were before I got the laser and since those were heavily waxed CXL I doubt laser would work well. I am looking for some nice mousepad leather that isn't CXL but I haven't found anything I like yet in the 10 oz I use for those.
  17. I have a little of my work in my profile header here at LW. My first laser work is attached. My laser work is not near as intricate as your bag. Just personalizations. I am thinking about making a gallery here but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
  18. Nice bag! I have a tiny laser for engraving. 3000mw. It won't cut leather but I didn't buy it for that. I bought it (under $200) for personalizations and so far it does a good job. Haven't had it too long so I'll see how long it lasts.
