If you have the tools you can make as straw stamp. Flatten a stainless bolt head and then cut some random lines with a small triangle file like the stamp on the left.

i misspoke a coup stick and a war club , the one with a big big rock, are different, A war club could be used to count coup as well as a spear , bow, stick or the hand. But the using only the coup stick in battle was the greatest deed.

I love the history! The native Americans carried a coup stick, most had a big rock on them. it was believed that touching a live opponent in battle was as great or greater feat than killing an opponent so they used the weapon to count coup .

it was actually taught to our office staff and councilors during the annual self defense training.

Chris one thing i learned working in a prison, bad people have brains and can use them fairly well and they don't usually let the victim determine the rules of the game. Face to face is more than likely going to be your only option. Funny thing i live in Wyoming it ranks at the top for states with the most guns per capita of any. I never carried until a few years ago, never felt the need. Now once in a great while i carry in town but always when traveling and always out in the sticks. Most folks here are the same as me. Most of what you folks see and hear on the news comes from the cities not the rural areas of the country. Now if i lived in the cities prolly a thumper and a shooter too and with my American bully at my side. We are truly being overrun, its a sad situation here. For you folks who work in an office , this works too!!!! just open it up and start swinging.

That is frightening! Canada has obviously started censoring a lot of news from the rest of the world. -

i/he will do that it also looks like the crown is higher on the sides than the front, I think i can pattern it with heavy paper pretty easy. -

sure has been kept quiet on the news. -
highly unlikely i think the original ones were probably big enough to get on over the pants and boot but I'm just not old enough or versed enough to know. The new ones have zippers so can be narrower and that stitch would be ornamental. Now you know your looking at shotgun chaps other types like bat wings are not made the same and have different methods to go around the leg.

Does anyone have a fedora pattern that they would share? My son wants to try his hand at making one. -
Thank you! Thanks!

that is called a running stitch, IF i remember right the legs are basically sewn together with those laces. i have no idea if an actual diagram would be available for that. but its covered in most lacing books. You can also add Conchos there. Tandy has a pattern pack for chaps that might show you how.

Who makes a good ( sharp) round end punch?
chuck123wapati replied to AdamDavis's topic in Leather Tools
Dull punches aren't necessarily bad punches, sharpen them, then you will know if the metal is to soft to hold an edge. then you will know if they are bad punches. you just cant do much leather work without learning to sharpen stuff. -

just saw your link Bruce you have some fine tools for sale those wood handled punches are the bomb! i couldn't see your video but dont know why someone wood think that a punch cant be made as sharp as a knife or cut leather just as easy by hand. -
