  1. can you fill them with fake stitches? Cover them with some type of do dad like maybe a concho or something similar?
  2. Love the lathe it sure took alot of work out of making things round lol. Thinking of making some burnishing wheels also I will check into that. Thanks !
  3. Headed your way! These are made from serviceberry its a very hard wood and an awesome wild fruit for wine or jelly lol.
  4. we store our collectable books in a gallon baggie with a desiccant pouch.
  5. depends a bit on what size of pieces and thickness your skiving and cutting also I would think.
  6. I'll throw em in the mail tomorrow morning.
  7. no you wont notice it, Mine have knots inside as well. You could use one piece of cord start at one end make your knot underneath then up through the button down through the button then on to the next button and so on through all the buttons ending up with just two knots, one on each end underneath.
  8. I drill one hole in them and use a knot with leather thong, hole through the guard and another knot, you can also knot your shock cord. What i did was very simple attach the three buttons on one side and leather thongs on the other, to attach to your arm just wrap the thong around the button two or three times then tuck the remainder inside the guard, works very well and has never came undone while shooting no matter if hunting or target and my guard is about 40 years old now lol.
  9. https://www.leathercraftlibrary.com/category/79/ebooks?pagenum=1 I think its here still. https://www.leathercraftlibrary.com/category/79/ebooks?pagenum=1
  10. No problem I'll get to work.
  11. I will! Measure the diameter of you tips so i get the right hole size, Do you want burnishing grooves also? They sure are handy on smaller jobs you dont have to change tools, just bevel and burnish.
  12. LOL Why didn't I think of that? Ya know I do have a bunch of smaller tines I may make a set.
  13. go to the tandy website , they have a ton of Stohlman ebooks free, I have found these books may be dated but will answer every question you have on the craft cutting ,stitching etc hasn't changed a bit . https://www.leathercraftlibrary.com/category/79/ebooks?pagenum=1
  14. heck yea i could see that as a skirt on a car seat also. really good stamping on the basket weave!
  15. A little Wyoming history from my town . https://www.wyohistory.org/encyclopedia/big-nose-george-grisly-frontier-tale
  16. That is a good idea indeed, i make a few of my stamps out of stainless bolts, the threads aren't fun to hold so i was using that shrink wrap for electrical wires to cover them. These would be much better.
  17. Here are some handles i made for this cool but pesky little tool. It is a combination groover, marker, and has three different size edge bevelers. Problem with it is its a pain to keep changing tips, the allen screw wears out and i drop those little pieces constantly. So i made handles to fit the bevelers problems solved! The reason i'm posting is i will make anyone here a set of handles, for these or any other use, unfinished or shellacked out of whatever wood with burnishing grooves if wanted for a 20 spot. If you would like more finish, a certain wood or something that will take me hours to make then we can discuss pricing.
  18. i had to get that light display it makes an awesome desktop background. My bro bought a plum crazy purple road runner in 69 when he got out. It made going 45 miles to the next town in 15 minutes possible lol. Love that old iron! One of my best days ever, my dad was the master mech at the local dodge garage, where i grew up after school, one weekend we were going up to watch my bro race snowmobiles and the owner of the shop let my dad take a brand new 1970 Plymouth SUPER BIRD to the race to show it off, damn that was one cool ride.
  19. i use iridescents over black for a similar effect on the background Dont know how your gonna get the gold
