oh yea top notch! -
i would just use some spray disinfectant, then let em set a day or however long you feel is necessary. If they have insoles you may want to replace them also.

Your lucky Wyoming is pretty dry so its not as much of a problem as more humid parts of the world. The acids in the leather reacts to humidity and you cant do much to stop it veg tan has tannic acid in it. I don't store firearms or ammo like that anymore but you sure can if you want. You will have to check it once in awhile and replace or clean the rounds, really the only way to prevent the stuff is good periodic maintenance and that is a necessity with the firearm as well. Moths and other bugs are notorious for getting inside a gun barrel and dyeing, when they do they can ruin the rifling, throat or cylinder for that matter in short order. so if your holster is open toe its something to think about also. I don't polish my brass before reloading so it always has a patina lol. Good luck friend. -
get a leather jacket, deconstruct it, cut out your design and use the pieces you cut out for patterns sew in your new pieces, resew. learn from your mistakes. When you are done you will know how to make them from scratch. My dad once told me there is nothing another man can do that you cant do. words to live by.

i would sew in a toe, if the wearer ever sits down in the dirt his gun barrel will be full. Dont ask how i know this. -
Dog collars - always worked flat?
chuck123wapati replied to Klara's topic in Collars, Cuffs, Leashes and Leads
once you glue them together they become one piece of leather so they don't separate. make them flat it will work fine. -

Doh then i looked up and remembered my clock . It was the first pattern that i made myself unlike leather glass patterns have to be made so you can cut each piece without problem, some angles you can draw you just cant cut out in glass. surprising how hard a logo this was to duplicate and get the clock segments as well.
