use a square piece of wood or flat on two sides put the leather tube on it like a sock and apply the glue to the sides and slide it into your quiver and apply pressure to set the glue on each side.
-
make one tube out of very thin leather about 1/3 rd the size of the quiver then place it in the center and sew it at the top in two places equal distance from each side to create three equal spaces and at the bottom before sewing up the bottom. or maybe easier would be to glue it in and stitch the the top.

I've got this idea. Take a button sew it on in the top center of your leather piece. then use a regular rubber hair tie and loop it around the button go around the braid then loop that end over the button again. it would fit any size braid. Or maybe two buttons one each where you placed the snap then use the rubber tie around both. Crap now I gotta make one! https://www.amazon.com/Goody-Womens-Elastic-Hair-Ties/dp/B005CSYUQA/ref=asc_df_B005CSYUQA?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80814222102129&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584413749535816&th=1

here are a couple of fossil surface finds i picked up while metal detecting this summer i would love to know what they are. The two oval shaped pieces have a very thin iridescent shell. the other is just weird.

tooling letters is hard for one reason, everyone knows what a letter is supposed to look like so every little mistake is compounded by the human eyes and minds ability to understand the shape it is imagined to be. Practice is key to eliminating those little mistakes.

Contrary to what we are taught, the lions share of human development and knowledge has come from the average person and his or her ability to observe. Science has had little positive influence in the whole scheme of life throughout the evolution of the human species.

We call most stone tools arrow heads out of habit. This could very well have been used as a knife or a hafted as a spear there is as much speculation as there are facts about the origin and use of many of these stone tools unless as you say are found with some proof of their usage.. I have found about 50 probably over the years some as small as a finger nail and some as large as three inches. I've even tried to make a few they are so interesting thinking about the man whose work you can see. Each flake tells a story of his ability. some are really exquisite then others look as if a child made them which could very well have been.

Holster pattern for a Walther PPK required
chuck123wapati replied to fredk's topic in How Do I Do That?
What Matt said plus the holster is not a custom fit but so a decent copy would be easy. there is a mag pocket fitted to the side that will be fun. There are tons of pictures on the net to go by. -
And grow a garden or own a few chickens or rabbits. i really appreciate that sentiment and believe me I don't take one bit of it for granted and cherish what i have been given for a life immensely. I cant even imagine living with that many people so close. Even though my place is fully paid off if I don't pay the arseholes their taxes yearly they will take it from me.

checkering files do have two sets of teeth and a groove or vee in between and come in different shapes and widths. i also think some could be for inlaying which they did in combination with checkering and carving. these could be a stock makers/carvers tool set i googled" inlaying tools " and did see some very similar looking tools.
-
some look like checkering files but i cant see the ends well enough to be sure, three like gouges for wood carving.

i have a detector and a small tin of old coins and other metal stuff i found in my yard, Three rings, one is a very old silver ring that is a cross with Jesus, it turned sideways, the long part of the cross goes around the finger. On our family homestead i found an axe head which my dad cleaned up and re fitted a handle, unfortunately it cracked along the weld one day while i was using it. I've found some cool stuff around the country with it including arrow heads lol as your eyes are always watching the ground you find all kinds of non metallic items.
