Sadly, in the US, the environmentalists have gotten so many places designated wilderness that the roads which were originally cut for fighting wildfires have been closed off. Yea firefighters cant drive in either how is that for environmental logic? Additionally the amount of deadfall due to the Pine Beatle years ago doesn't allow for the firefighters an easy way out if trouble happens so it to dangerous to fight, most of the time they can only stage and watch it burn. The Mullen fire here a couple years ago was that way, all they could do was fight a few places where they had access and save a few cabins, for months they just sat at the staging area watching the planes try. In addition almost the whole states funding was spent doing nothing because they couldn't do anything. Its a shame.

its how you use the beveler, just at the point where the two camo stamp impressions come together at the vee, on this you can see i used a cross hatch beveler to make the impression

is it a stamp you made from the picture or a series of stamps, freehand work????

yup the width, in looking at mine i just realize the width of the lay out lines is about equal to the width of the camo tool, i will try a few later and see if there is a correlation that would make sense. I just went with what seemed right I too would like to know a secret tip to make it easier to plan.

Just finished this to go with the quiver i made. Thought i would go with Celtic type theme. Why because i know I couldn't carve a real looking elk and make it look right LOL. The scales are left natural, Bison brown stain and I antiqued the critter to make the lines pop and to darken it more.

i usually apply it with either an air brush or a natural sponge. The airbrush if i want a nice even dye job, or with the sponge if i want it to have some variation without streaks and stuff. i have a hard time getting an even job without dipping, never have figured out the dauber so i use the problem to my advantage a natural sponge does a nice job if you just daub or tap it lightly, don't wipe it or smear on the dye just daub it lightly all over. here is a phone case with the dye daubed on.

yes it is i use a lot of it, Bison brown on my bottle.

v407 for the leaves and f916 for the petals.
