  1. I don't have a vacuum machine, and I'm at a total loss as to how you could possibly mold the holster before sewing and then fold it over and get it thru the loops. Please tell me how this is done? tried to look at your website got a 404 error. did you take it down?
  2. Oh did I make a mistake and post in critique my work? Thought I posted in How do I do that and asked specific questions on what to do next and in what order. Let me repost in the right area
  3. Trying another Loop Holster heres were I'm at. Whats next? I know I need to bevel edges, sand edges, kote edges and assemble the holster then Mold it. BUT in what order would I do all this. Also should I wet the holster to assemble it or try to do it dry?
  4. this will do the trickhttps://www.amazon.com/Marlow-White-Clear-Military-Police/dp/B0725BR2F3/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=hat+rain+cover&qid=1623221322&sr=8-5
  5. Old Post I know but ,Some here are saying engraving the leather will weaken it. This may be true if your engraving very thin leather, but if your engraving 4oz or more veg tan leather , engraving is not gonna really be a factor in its strength for most applications, like Holsters, wallets , bike seats what ever. Someone wanted pictures of a used wallet. This is one I did about 5 years ago, Its in my pocket everyday. As you can see its well worn, but the engraving even the fine lines still show up very well and I'm sure will continue to do so.
  6. what ever you do don't buy a glowforge, there way over priced and are basicly junk.
  7. have you considered a 40 watt co2 like a K40 , I mean if your looking at over 300 for a diode for a couple more bucks you get a faster larger co2 and you can do a lot more with it
  8. Broadway and MGM movie actor Christian Haren won the role as the first Marlboro Man in the early 1960s as he looked the part. Burnett then came across Darrell ...
  9. sno-seal would do a good job of protecting it
  10. Very well done beautiful Holster
  11. Sewing the edges is not for show. Its to make sure it holds up out in the field . The putting it on and taking it off a belt and the constant drawing and holstering of the weapon, takes it toll on the holster and the edges will start to come apart. He could still sew the edges on this one if he so desired .Not hard to do. Again JMHO.
  12. jmo but I think it would look better if you sewed the outside edges also.
  13. That is so awesome, hope it makes the puppy feel better. Good job
  14. You didn't look to hard try here
  15. I wiped them down with a damp cloth. I thinned the sheen a little and gave them another coat. Seems to have done the trick. Thanks guys
  16. Thank you I'll do both see what happens
  17. For some reason my super sheen is leaving a whitish film on my projects. This is the first time I've run into this problem. Its always dried clear. I'm sheening dyed vegtan . any ideas or ways to clear it up. Thanks for any help here.
  18. the sheath has a plastic roller in it the knife is partially open fit into the sheath amd the blade over the roller. when you pull the knife out the blade is open by being pulled over the roller.
  19. The one I started was for a buck 110 , Im sure you can make it work with a 112 Like I said its hand drawn and still needs refining.
  20. Hi Welcome pictures would be nice
  21. I have one someplace that I hand drew and it still needs work if your willing. I didn't finish it because I didn't like the way it worked LOL what knife ???
  22. what kind of leather did you use for the case , would love to see a picture.
  23. Yes I for got to bevel the edges my bad there. I didn't mold the pockets on these, wanted the knife to slip in and out with ease, molding puts retention on the knife also I wanted a pocket that would fit other knives of that style . But yes maybe 5oz leather would be ok for the trapper size knives. When I first started making the sheaths for the Buck 110 and lockbacks of that size, I made them from 5 oz and many thought they were flimsy so I jumped to 7-8 oz I didn't realize the snap made a difference. My stitching I like to keep 1/8" from the edge , even tho the edge is glued I think it helps hold it better if its close. Thanks for the suggestions
