  1. If you are looking for a caramel color, you might look into the colors Saddle Tan or British tan.
  2. Thanks TomE. I appreciate the feedback. I always seem to learn something every time you post a project.
  3. Looks nice. Outstanding work as always. Do you use a stitching groover for your sew line? Or possibly heat crease a stitch line? Or does the stitch just pull in that tight, due to the nappa padding leather when sewn? Thanks.
  4. Beautiful work! Looks great.
  5. Looks good. You should design 1 that carries a hatchet & a fixed blade hunting/bushcraft knife. Nice work.
  6. Not knowing what was originally used as sealer it is hard to recommend a product. I am fairly new at the leather stuff, only been at it for 8-10years. I would look at Satin Shene Or Fiebings leather balm. Somebody more knowledgeable might throw out a better recommendation.
  7. You will love it. Yeah his stamps are buy 1 & it will last forever type stamps. Kinda Buy Once, Cry Once type stamp. But I have used my stamp for heat foil transfer to leather, as well as making brass & aluminum plates with it. To its actual job of stamping leather. Congrats. Can't wait to see it on some of your nice leatherwork.
  8. Looks good. Nice work! Did you burnish the edge's of your belt? I can't tell in pics. Thanks.
  9. I think I might need something like this for sewing canvas. I'm a newbie so I'm unsure.
  10. I would reach out to Tim Purdy at Steel Stamps Inc. He does some awesome work. He did my 1½" makers mark stamp. Really great guy to deal with. Nice work on the large quilted basket weave tooling. Looks great.
  11. Thanks bruce. Yeah I buy a lot of stuff from Aaron & Don Gonzales to help support them. Lmao like they need my support. Thanks. I'll give them a call & see they can help me out. I got a feeling I might need to change the feed dog & needle plate to sew this waxed canvas. Lmao I could be totally wrong too. Thanks.
  12. Guys & gals I recently got a Cobra class 26 for my lighter weight sewing projects. 1st off, I am a Newbie to this machine sewing stuff. Couple questions? 1: Do I need to get a serrated feed dog & needle plate setup to sew 18oz waxed canvas? 2: What accessories do I need? & Which model of sewing machine accessories. The Cobra class 26 looks like a 1341 feed dog & needle plate would fit. I plan on making some waxed canvas & leather tote bags. As well as some waxed canvas & leather backpack's. 3: What type of needle point should I use for the mixed material sewing? Thanks any & all help will be greatly appreciated.
  13. That is going to be SHARP! Can't wait to see your finished display case. You do some nice work. The lighting, tooled leather back ground, with a bunch of nice hand made knives. Oh It is going to be awesome.
  14. Here is a Cobra class 4 441 class machine with flatbed attachment. Threw up some pics with dimensions.
  15. Here is a Cobra class 26 flatbed attachment & some dimensions. I had to get it setup, soo I figure I would throw some pics up.
  16. I will say I am just a newbie when it comes to sewing leather with a machine. I looked at this machine in the beginning & asked a few questions about it & similar machines. I think most of them machines are set up with a binder attachment. So it might require a feed dog & throat plate change. Additional money required for accessories. What was your intended use & the thread size you plan on using?
  17. Yeah this particular side of veg-tan leather the wallet back was cut from, had 1 area that was really shiny, almost reflective so to speak. So maybe at some point is was laid on something that caused it.
  18. Thanks. Much Appreciated. Yeah the splotchiness is growing on me. I am wondering if my leather had some glaze spots. I have heard of leather getting glazed & needed de-glazed before dying. Lol I'm not sure what to look for or how it happens.
  19. That is from my drafting lights I got on my work bench. I got LED light bulbs in them. They are the drafting lights you can adjust to about any configuration you like.
  20. I am just curious as you why it sticks. But the sheath that sticks to magnetic strip. Is it by chance a chrome tan leather? Or is the brown leather dyed with a ferrous solution to achieve the rust red/ brown leather?
  21. I want a synchronizing 90° binder, but they are are about $700-$900 I believe for the 441 or 341 sewing machines. I ordered a swing away binder setup, that I am going to try & adapt to 1 of my machines for now.
  22. I got the Cobra class 4 & the Cobra class 26 sewing machines. I bought the table tops for both machines, just because it's the thing to do Right? I have used the class 4 table top for belts & rifle slings, but it probably really was not needed. I can get you measurements for both table tops if that is what you need. I think the reason for me, buying the table tops was for piece of mind. I have them if needed. I am actually wanting to set both machines up for edge binding. Again piece of mind thing for me.
  23. Thanks. I appreciate the positive feedback. For not handling my leather tools for over a year, the wallet turned out pretty nice.
  24. Well other than the drunk driver behind the sewing machine. It turned out Ok. 1st thing I have sewn with the Cobra class 26, boy do I need a lot more practice.
  25. I was going to mention the Grizzly granite inspection plate/platen. But after I seen the $199 freight. I was like nope. Stone was $155.
