  1. Yeah its definitely on my bucket list of things to do. Just the funds are not there this year to do it. Just seeing & being at 1 them big shows would be a joy for me.
  2. All the spots I have used have 2-4 metal tabs you bend over to hold it to the leather. I would definitely reccomend lining the holster after the spots were added.
  3. I got a 10 & 12 oz poly maul for tooling. & a 16oz & 24oz poly maul for my big hole punches, strap cutters & stuff like that.
  4. Yeah I have been buying tools now for a few years & still dont have all the ones I want. I reckon i got over a 100 different stamping/tooling tools. Yeah having to bring your marble is a bit much.
  5. If they are going to fly with the case/boxes, wont drilling holes mess the pressure system the box was designed for doing. Plus it just introduces a place for water to get into the box/case & takes away from it being a water tight case/box.
  6. Yes most of them classes want you to bring all your own tools. They usually will provide some tools if you show up empty handed. I would like to attend 1 of his tutorials to say I got to do it & learn some things. Don Gonzales puts on classes too that I want to attend.
  7. Welcome welcome!!!
  8. Thanks I appreciate your time & trouble.
  9. Make sure you rough up the area for the patch to be glued or epoxied. Rough the box area up with 80 grit sand paper where the patch will be glued or epoxied. I would use west systems G-Flex 650 toughened 2 part epoxy.
  10. Here is something else I recommend. If you happen to run across it in your journeys. It's got a bunch of different methods. For hand sewing about anything. It's a good book with lots of visual aids.
  11. Nope that's correct. That's the beauty of the "S" style threading of the needle. You can release your needle by just grabbing the short tail of the thread in the loop & give it a pull & it will release the needle. You can also put your needle back on if need be. Or adjust the length of 1 side of the thread. If 1 side gets longer or shorter for some reason.
  12. Nice work! Let's see some stitches from that beast!
  13. Welcome to the group. Bunch of great people's here. Enjoy.
  14. Congrats on the new piece of machinery! Eye Candy!
  15. Yeah everybody I've talked to, says they love their KSBlade chisels & pricking irons. Stupid priced thou for a full set. Lmao what ain't expensive anymore. Even McDonald's! Everybody I've spoke to, thinks the KSBlade chisels really refined their stitch work.
  16. No I never put my calipers on the tandy chisels to measure them. They look closer to 6mm to me than 4mm. I might do that today when I get in the leather room.
  17. This is what I think is funny. These are all budget diamond stitching chisels. All 4mm spacing or so they say on them. All saddle stitched with a right hand cast over & .55mm poly-braid thread. Look at how they all appear. The tandy 4mm stitching chisels have a huge spacing difference compared to the other 2 brands.
  18. Looks great. Too high tech for me to do thou. Nice work.
  19. Another thing that works for burnishing edges is a piece of denim blue Jean's material. Works good.
  20. Nice job. Them look great. Nice work on the wet molding.
  21. Looks good Frodo. I'll order the 830 camouflage stamp when I place another order thru Pro leather carvers. Keep up the good work!
  22. Yeah I just decided I'm going to order a set of KS Blade v2 diamond pricking irons. Expensive, but I hear good things about them. The diamond is slimmer on them.
  23. Well I'm glad it's working out for you. I was hoping you could understand my jibberish instructions. That's also why I figured, i best include a picture of it. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.
  24. This is what the "S" looks like on your needle. Then from there you just slide your thread over the eye of the needle. From the pointed end.
  25. You just pull your thread thru your needle eye & leave a 4-5" tail of thread, then you pierce your thread with your needle. Then from there just pierce your thread again, & it will create a "S" on you needle. Then grasp the "S" & pull it over the eye over your needle. Lmao I hope you can understand my jibberish.
