  1. Thanks toxo. If you dont mind who/ where did you buy your clicker dies thru? Like you hand bag dies? Thanks.
  2. I think this would be a great platform to build a hydrualic clicker press from. I can easily make & install a pressing pad/foot. Plus I can easily add a electric over hydrualic power pack to it with foot controls. If I decide to go this route, would there be any interest in a build thread on it?
  3. Beautiful piece. Work of art I must say. Outstanding work!
  4. Thank you. I appreciate it. I think that might be the same set I ordered.
  5. Thanks. I think I'll get a harbor freight hydrualic press & convert it to a clicker press. Might even get a pump/motor setup & run it thru with foot controls. Thanks.
  6. Ok thanks I appreciate it. I was not thinking about the total area to cut on a wallet back. Lmao my math is way off. Thanks.
  7. Thanks. Do you think for wallet dies, I should get them with the stitching holes in the dies? Or should I get the dies without the stitching holes? I also imagine the press could be used for leather embossing as well. I appreciate all the input. Thanks.
  8. That looks great. Nice work! Thanks for sharing your dye used. I think I just found a new favorite color dye. Outstanding work.
  9. Thanks. I appreciate it. Well if I done my math right. It appears it would take 2900lbs to cut my wallet backs. Lol that's if my math was correct.
  10. Dang kgg I'm going to need to go back to school. I thank you for the detailed formula. But the press is stated as 1.5imperial tons. & has a 14" x 10" cutting platform. Thanks I appreciate it. Thanks fredk how do you like the tandy press? I was looking at a vevor press, due to limit funds at this point.
  11. Guys & gals I'm looking at a 1.5ton manual clicker press. My question: Will a 1.5ton manual clicker press cut out a 10" x 4" wallet back? Or is this wishful thinking? Thanks. Any & all help will be appreciated.
  12. I personally like the blue & yellow bag. Another thought was maybe make a couple bags with external pockets, that are zippered or magnetic closures. Or possibly a bag or 2 with a zippered top closure. Hope maybe I threw in some sort of creative idea.
  13. I think your bags/totes look good. I sure know there is $75 worth of leather in them. I would have your friend put a couple in their booth. Wont know till you try. Plus you can always come down on your price or mark them price negotiable. Great work!
  14. Ok I thought I would just mention it. I figured you was doing something similar. Yep old school iron, like they used on the old wood cook stoves. You should put you a handle back in it. Is your 1 clicker die a 4" square coaster? Thanks.
  15. Nice ingenuity! Looks like it's getting the job done. What about a putting a steel bar or board across the corner of the dies to spread your force out some. It might help.
  16. Thanks for the detailed write up. Much to think about. I love the color of the Havana cigar, it's by far my favorite color of their thread. I'll get some to try. Thanks.
  17. @Sinbad395 would you mind telling me which brand & texture of steep angle bevelers did you get from Pro Leather carvers? Thanks.
  18. Nice work. Looks great. That looks real difficult to do thou. Outstanding work.
  19. Nice work! Looks great! Beautiful piece.
  20. Thanks I appreciate it. Would you mind posting a pic of your tiger thread sample card? I'll get 1 when I order from Rocky mountain. Thanks.
  21. Thanks for posting this. I have been wanting to try tiger thread, because of the colors offered. I was curious if the flat tiger thread would lay consistently on a project. I was worried about it twisting & not looking right. Maybe I'll get a small spool of it & try my luck at it. Thanks.
  22. Looks good to me. I bet Patricia will love it regardless, how you think. Great work.
  23. I took a 4¼" wide wallet back & split it from 2.50mm to 1.75mm. It seemed to work good, but is kind of a workout. I think 4-4½" wide would be about max width on this splitter. I love the locking handle feature.
  24. I took the the blade to some 600grit sand paper, then stepped up to 800grit & then up to 1200grit. It is super sharp now! A lot of them lines disappeared on my split leather now. I think the blade had some minor imperfections, but is great now. I think with time it will get better. I'm fairly sure this is a cowboy 806 leather splitter, or a knock off of a cowboy 806. I highly recommend it, if money is a concern. It is the Yaetek brand from amazon & seems to work great. It only cost $159.99
  25. I'm wondering if something like super sheen or resolene would stiffen it up. I've heard of people also putting melted wax of some sort to stiffen the leather also.
