  1. Thanks I appreciate it. Is your scales on the cpm154 knife, what they call or refer to as tortoise shell? Thanks. Nice work on it all.
  2. Thanks. Do you use upholstery tacks/nails to fix your leather to the soles? Or are them decorative touches? Thanks again. I appreciate it.
  3. Beautiful work on the tooling & beautiful knives. You do awesome work. What blade steel are you working with? & what brand is your dragon scale stamp. Nice work. Love the pine cone scales also. Them dang things are expensive but, stunning. Thanks.
  4. They look great! Nice work. Do you make your own soles & insoles? Thanks.
  5. As promised. Here is my very 1st poor attempt at antiquing leather. It dont look too bad. I kinda dig the look actually. I got 1 more step of rubbing in some Skidmores leather balm. I think that will darken it up a touch more. This is full strength eco flo super sheen, over veg tan leather, then fiebings dark brown antique gel applied & allowed to sit 10 minutes then buffed clean. Then I re applied eco flo super sheen to the leather panel. Heres a couple pics.
  6. Thanks bladegrinder. I put the eco flo super sheen on full strength, then I used fiebings antique gel & let is set 10minutes then i buffed it off. It seemed to take well. Now I'm letting antique gel cure out & will coat it 1 more time with eco flo super sheen. We shall see how it turns out. Now dont laugh. I put the super sheen on full strength. I will keep everyone posted. Thanks.
  7. Thanks I'll do some test samples & see what happens.
  8. Guys & gals I'm wondering? Can Tandy Eco Flo Super Sheen be used as a antiquing resist? I'm wanting to use the Fiebings antique gel & curious if this is possible. I'm curious if is leave it full strength or dilute/thin it to 50/50. Thanks.
  9. Thanks. Yeah I watch a lot of DG on youtube, among a few other guys. Lol i am getting a pile of wasted leather. Or should i say learning of what not to do.
  10. @nstarleather what weight of leather is your grey visage latigo leather? Also are them sides you got & what square feet do they measure? Thanks.
  11. Thanks. I appreciate the info & help. I have really been cutting my toes off at pricing. But I mainly do basketweave type tool work. I am just now getting into leather carving. You tool work is great. Just love it & hope to be at that level someday. Thanks. Great looking wallets. Very nice stuff you are producing. Nice!
  12. Looks great. Nice work. May I ask what you quoted your roper wallet at? I'm just curious as how to price something like wallets. Also what type of glue do you use on your sheepskin? & how you apply it? If you dont mind. Thanks. Great work BTW.
  13. Great looking bag/tote/purse. You do fine work. Really nice work.
  14. @Bchase19 Is it just a snake skin? Or has it been lined? Glycerin oil lightly rubbed over it. It will bring back the color & make it soft.
  15. Looks great. Nice work. Thanks for the idea.
  16. Thanks SUP. I'll have to check it out. I've been doing this for a bit, but I got soo much more to learn.
  17. Looks good! She will cherish that forever. Nice work.
  18. Ok thanks. I got a leather roller coming. I have heard of people doing that with kangaroo leather. The few videos I watched the procedure looked to work pretty good. I'll do some testing before starting a project. Thanks.
  19. Thanks Bruce, do you think a guy would be better off to use a spray adhesive like 3M Super 77? For a lining like that. Maybe less chance of bleed thru. Lol this was listed as veg tan goatskin, but when it showed up it was sheepskin. Some of my order was goatskin, but some of it is sheepskin. Supposedly all veg tan. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
  20. It looks to me a pebble back grounder, but I could be totally wrong.
  21. Might look into rocky mountain leather. They list their leather by firmness, among other things. But at least you can see what firmness the leather is unlike other places. I'm thinking you want something from a minimum of 7/10 firmness/hand. 8/10 firmness/hand would probably be better suited. I am just a newbie, so I maybe totally wrong.
  22. Guys & gals I'm wanting to try & line a wallet with sheepskin or goatskin. This stuff is soo thin, I'm curious what I need for glue. I surely cant use contact cement on this type stuff can I? If somebody wants to give me some tips i would sure appreciate your input & knowledge. Also what is the best way to finish the edges on a lined wallet? Thanks.
  23. I recently started using skidmores conditioning/finishing cream. It seems to be nice stuff. It supposedly is all natural. Plus it smells good.
  24. Lol that could be the case here to. I figured it's better to have it & not need it.
  25. Looks great! You do lovely work.
