I had a request to make a few collars using bright and bold color schemes. I think they turned out pretty wild. I got these paints from Frogjelly on etsy. Great customer service!

Here is a Wheeler Wilson Badge I made into Bracelet for a collector in Texas. I have been experimenting with gold leaf on leather to hi-lite stuff. Im not sure if its better than metalic paint but it works easy enough. The stones are typical synthetic for color.

Hi guys! I just recently got into leather crafts and decided to make myself a bracelet with the rainbow flag. I used a piece of 3 mm thick full grain leather and some leather strings which seemed to be dipped in some paint (these were the only ones I could find in the 6 rainbow colors that I wanted). The holes I punch with a 3 mm punch (strings are 2 mm). I dyed the leather with some RØD dark brown dye and finished it with a leather balm we had lying around. The 6 strings were sewed on each end. I glued the fabric under the leather to prevent the strings from tearing out. To top it all off, I installed a 12,5 mm snap at the end. I think for my very first leather work it turned out really good! (I have experiences in sewing but not leather work) Let me know what you think! Greets from Germany, Fynn

I have made a 4-strand round braid bracelet which fit just find at first. As time went on it got tighter and tighter and is now so loose it comes off too easily. I put a simple end with a hole on one side and a knot on the other. That was a simple design I had on the web somewhere but it is not really feeling finished, just technically possible to close. How would you or how have you guys "finished" or created a closures for a 4-strand round braid bracelet? Photos: IMG_2847 by Ed Davison, on Flickr IMG_2846 by Ed Davison, on Flickr

After the bag, decided to make something small in the name of instant gratification . Made a narrow ‘double tour’ bracelet, with: some scrap glazed croc from @Lee05 (thanks!) some great HAAS calf in smooth black from @nstarleather (beautiful quality as always) a handy dose of croc-working advice from @RockyAussie (I interfaced the back like you suggested, and cut oversize then trimmed down....) hardware from @buckleguy - used a handbag foot stitched with 0.6mm beige Tiger thread, using 3.0mm KS stitching irons (would’ve used Lin Cable but only have it in black....sooooo expensive per reel lol)

I saw something similar a while back and thought it was a cool color combination, and also a pretty awesome tribute to our law enforcement officers. I'd wanted to do something and I finally gave it a shot the other day. This is what I came up with. Comments, critiques, suggestions, questions, etc., are always welcome.

Hello, all! I'm looking to create something similar to this, and I love the dainty look of the fasteners. The problem is, I have absolutely no idea what they are. I lost this bracelet, so I can't remember what the back looked like, but it doesn't look like a rivet--or at least not a traditional one. http://imgur.com/a/9bzQw Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Watched too many pinstriping vids on Youtube, then made some bracelets...

Trying to do modern leatherwork again to take a break from reenactment. I had the idea for these about 3 years ago, but the design wasn't all there and I didn't have the skills to make them how I wanted, so they've sat in the back of my mind for a long time! They're made of 2 layers of 'economy' 1-1.5mm veg-tan and lined with .8mm calfskin, and are stitched using 18/3 linen thread. I don't know if its the size of thread, the chisel tool, or the tool making them, but the saddle stitch isn't sitting quite how I want it, so I tried using a running stitch on the blue one. Going to have to come back to these when I have some nicer leather and tools. Any feedback and criticism is appreciated!

Got bored Saturday figured I would try and do a Mexican round braid as this was the first time ever trying it, I figured a bracelet would be the easiest way to go about doing it. Even used a cab that I had laying around. Lace is kangaroo and the piece of leather holding the cab in place (both cab and leather piece are glued ) is sheep skin

Thanks to Cseeger I have some awesome coin snaps. This is the first one I've used since I got them so even though it's just a bracelet I'm showing it off. I also did something a bit different with the mystery braid, instead of cutting the strips the entire length of of the strap, I stopped in the middle so it's two braids in one bracelet. I really like how it lays flat against the flat of the wrist when braided this way. I think I'm finally getting the hang of setting snaps, they're firmly attached without denting the hell out of the caps. This is my first time setting rivets and once I figured out the trick of it (and used the proper setter) they were pretty easy to do. I rather like how the "filigree" one looks, I'll probably be pushing that further on the next bracelet I make.

Hello All! I am new to leather crafting but I have fallen in love with it! I have a gazillion projects in mind but here are the first few projects I completed. Please help me become better with any tips, critiques, or thoughts you might have! I study Budo Taijutsu and so I made these for myself to replace my worn out items: Japanese Tabi (split toed boots) Kyahan (basically like shin guards and to cover the pant legs) It looks like I will have to add the other projects as replies because I hit the limit.

Hi guys, I'd like to introduce myself: My name is Brandon, I'm from NY and am very interested in leather products. I've always been a fan of the richness and how it adds an air of high quality to anything it touches. I currently work with a jeweler who I am very interested in having help me make custom clasps for leather braided bracelets. The style of braiding is what I'm unsure of. I believe it to be a flat leather lace that is double braided or maybe two seperate rows of double braiding..I would love to create bracelets out of really bright, vibrant colors like seafoam green, lapis, coral, and would love if someone could point me in the direction (after establishing what type of leather lace I need) where I can find it in the colors I'm looking for. I will stop my bumbling now and just attach some pictures for you all. Thank you in advance for your help, I will post finished images of my end product. -- Thanks again, Brandon

Hey guys I am a 22 year old out of Seattle, WA and I just started my own small business called Raw Leather Goods LLC. I am currently making belts, bracelets, and key clips. I am looking to expand my range of products but am currently short of funds (full time school, part time work). Because of this I have started a crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter. Please check it out and any support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sunnysid3up/raw-leather-goods-premium-full-grain-leather-goods

Well after cutting myself with a large knife while cutting the leather out for this bracelet I have found that learning leathercraft can be dangerous lol. But here is the very first Bracelet that I have ever done, see what you all think. Did learn that my skiving needs a bit of work! The stamping did nto come out as deep as I wanted it to so next time around I am going to use a bit of super sheen on the stamping just to help make it show up a bit better. Let me know what you all think.

I'm looking for a leatherworker to make me some bracelet blanks to use in conjunction with my paintings. I've recently refined a process of creating painted strips of flexible paper and sealing them so that they're watertight. I'd like to turn my paintings into cuff bracelets and was thinking the best way to go about it would be to inlay them onto a leather base. I need someone to make the bases fit me since I don't know the first thing about leatherworking. More details: Cuff width doesn't particularly matter, I can cut strips to fit. Closure style is up to you. Looking for a couple good prototypes with potential for future orders I can privide painting samples for prototype design, but would prefer to receive blanks and be able to install the paintings myself. Basic image of what I'm looking for attached, along with a not-so-great pic of a bookmark strip. Please respond here or email me at btomchek@aol.com with a quote. Thanks! Liz

I had 2 hours to get this done before her sister woke up and considering I had to glue a lambskin lining to the faux crocodile, they don't look too bad. She loves purple and I had some of this faux crocodile, so she ended up with a pretty stylish purse/bracelet combo. I had to cheat and use a strap from a Value Village find that I had purchased for its hardware but that didn't bother her any. Got me lots of granny points. lol

Hello All! I wanted to stop in and leave some pics of the things I have been working on. I have been off the site for a short bit but am thankful for all the help folks have provided plus the trove of information that help guide me on this site! Here are a few of my first pieces which I put up on my Etsy shop.

Hello All. I was playing around with some scrap saddle tan kangaroo hide and came up with the idea of making a bracelet like one of the old Western Money belts. I had made one of the money belts a good while back from the Will Ghormley patterns, so I had the basics of what was needed already in mind. This was just a quick experiment so it is a little messy and not perfect. Again it was just for fun. Anyway, I don't know what would be put inside, maybe some small survival items (fire tender, ferrocerium rod, cord, etc, etc. I would have carved something on it if I were any good at carving, but the hide is too thin anyway, so, oh well. Would love to see what others who are good at carving could come up with. Thanks for looking..........Rory
