While some folks are content making the same thing again and again,  Natalie and I like to stretch the boundaries of what we can do.

And I’ll tell you, this stretched ALL of them. 3.5 full sides, hand stitched except the scales, embossed lion and bronze fittings and three months of our lives.

Made to a historical pattern with the help of a local experimental archeologist, this piece will be used for re-enactments and historical displays, among other things.

I hope you enjoy it.  It’s time for a drink or three and to let my fingers heal!

So uh, I noticed you didn't burnish the edges of the scales...

Naw man, awesome work!

Do you take it apart for storage or do you use an armor stand?

I hate it, but its a matter of cost.  Too much time to do them all.

Wow.  That is amazing.      What did you hold the armor pieces in to do the hand stitching.

My knees or leaning on a chair.  I'd need a stitching mammoth to hold this thing!

Well Mike, you constantly raise the bar for us but I'm afraid you raised it for yourself this time too man. I'm cussing trying to find the right words to describe how cool this is so before I type them, I'm just going to say that is amazing and it is an honor to have the chance to ask you about it.

Just. Plain. Awesome.

Did you have a clicker die to cut out the scales?

Yes.  No way I was cutting those by hand!
