  1. Past hour
  2. I made a hard seat smooth-out saddle with just some basket stamped corners several years ago. Took me about four hours more time being careful to not make marks and then rubbing out the ones I did with antler tines and bones. The guy picks it up and carried it out. He threw it on its side on the diamond plate flatbed of his ranch pickup and bounced down the road. I was thinking then what a waste of my time being careful. Here's a picture of it a couple years later. Smile says it all. Yeah, don't sweat it, it will be fine!
  3. I had some horween essex in parisian blue that's been lounging in my shop for ages. So I made a glasses case. It was fun, im not 100% sure i care for this pattern but it still came out nice
  4. That sounds good! I'll do that as soon as I get the set screws sorted...both set screws (both the one that goes in the main-shaft-groove and the one that does not) have one ear broken off. Planning to cut a groove in the top of each set screws to make them serviceable again and put them back in for now. Tempting...we just got the machine back to smelling good again after its initial bath in P'Blaster. šŸ‘ƒ I guess we could relegate it to the porch for a few days..
  5. Nice. The skirt shape gives the holster a Frazier-ish look.
  6. Hey all, I’m looking for the Craftool 8540 wildcat stamp, or other similar wildcat stamp. Yes, a different stamp is listed with Tandy now, but a different post mentioned that there is some confusion on the product. Apparently the 8540-00 motorcycle wings stamp is branded as Craftool, but is actually made by a different company, whereas the 8540 model actually made by Craftool is the wildcat stamp I’m looking for. So, if you have a wildcat stamp that you’re willing to part with, whether the 8540 or something else similar, then I will make it worth your while to drop it in the mailbox. Shoot me a message, and we can work out the details… TIA, AZR
  7. Nice work. don't worry too much about the color, or lack of it. Chuck is right. Nothing looks better than aged leather. I have wet molded it and set it in the sun to dry. It also speeds the natural darkening process, giving the leather a nice patina.
  8. Today
  9. very nice !!! in a year, you won't be able to tell the old from the new. they will darken naturally in the sun and look better with age.
  10. I would get a wire brush and scrap all round the unit particularly around the feed eccentric seam and then add a few drops of good old fashion diesel around the feed eccentric seam. Wait about 24 hours to let it soak in, a few light tabs with a hammer and without any needle or bobbin run it at different speeds for a few minutes. If it hasn't freed up start over with a few more drops of diesel. Once freed oil the heck out of it with some synthetic transmission oil. If you can't get it freed like @CowboyBob has suggest replace the unit. kgg
  11. I'll agree with @kgg the brush motor is the one to go with we might have 2 out of 1,000 go bad where we had 3 out of 10 of the brushless type go bad & gave up on them.
  12. There's 2 ways to fix it,replace it OR try sewing & using it w/o locking it up should make the part rock in the grooves to get it to free up,you need to tighten the smaller screw since that is what connects the stitch cam to the shaft.

    Sheaths

Great work! I love those closures on the tracker sheath.
  14. Pretty sharp!
  15. Looking good. You are right. Hard to hide any nicks, fingernail marks for sure.
  16. @chuck123wapati you've convinced me, i'll give the ol bunky bbq a rebuild . Our spam comes in a nicely formed lump out of a tin and can be sliced, just like corned beef in a tin , full of fat and God knows what else, a vegos worst nightmare, that and black pudding, ha! But they taste great šŸ‘ HS
  17. Thanks everyone for your input. That is definitely very helpful. cheers, JosƩ
  18. I guess it's sort of 'nowhere to hide'? Keeps you honest, though. Larry
  19. Funny, but gosh, that looks OLD! Is it from an old movie?
  20. You need to quote part of the post, or tag the user so he gets a notification. @szeregowy You have some one interested in your machine. To tag a user, type the @ symbol followed by the username, then pick it from the popup box.
  21. 12 year old post, but @BearManappears to check in still. Maybe tagging him will draw his attention.
  22. That's very clever Dwight. Concealed suspenders.
  23. Hey Cumberland, Thanks for the recommendation, and the heads-up. Yeah, I figured that Weaver had a premium price on their champagne product but I'm on a beer budget! Nick
  24. Hey Bruce, I'm so glad that you mentioned Texas Custom Dies. I bought a bag punch from them maybe 15 years ago, give or take but I couldn't remember their name. I was (am) very happy with their product and service. I will likely go with them this time... no reason not to. Nick

  26. Can you make another?
