Pfaff Repair Manuals
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to DannyGray's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Dan, Pfaff has a lot of books, some awful, and some really fantastic, but it can depend heavily on the model. What model do you have for starters? This would help pin down what may be available to you. -

These issues are as old as the hills, or at least as old as online message boards! As per Wikipedia; Flaming is a hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users, often involving the use of profanity. Flaming usually occurs in the social context of an Internet forum, Internet Relay Chat (IRC), Usenet, by e-mail, game servers such as Xbox Live or PlayStation Network, and on video-sharing websites such as YouTube. It is frequently the result of the discussion of heated real-world issues such as politics, religion, andphilosophy, or of issues that polarize sub-populations, but can also be provoked by seemingly trivial differences. Deliberate flaming, as opposed to flaming as a result of emotional discussions, is carried out by individuals known as flamers, who are specifically motivated to incite flaming. These users specialize in flaming and target specific aspects of a controversial conversation.

Techsew 2700 Vs Consew 206Rb-5?
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Northman's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Apple products? Yeah, China. They have brought back a few token American made products, but they afford to mfg. here for sure and make a massive profit. They just decide not to. -
Techsew 2700 Vs Consew 206Rb-5?
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Northman's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Fixed! Well, most of the new just about anything nowadays come from China and are not made in the US, Europe or Japan. Even the "old name" brands like Toyota or Sony (just to name a few) come from China nowadays. Most Chinese made products are very similar they just have different brand name tags or sticker. But that's not unusual nowadays. -
Right, the only problem there for some folks is that the knee/foot lifter is always going to give you that extra presser foot clearance that may be necessary. If setup correctly, this lift can be certainly enough to make a difference. I guess it depends on your work. BTW, the Singer 211 style hand lifter is a lot better than the standard 111W style. It give more leverage, and is a lot easier to locate by feel by hand.
-
Hooking up a presser foot lifter for a 111W is a bit different, but just as easy, granted you know what parts you will need. All parts shown are identical and the same for a Singer 153W and Consew 227 models, to name a few. All parts shown are necessary for this to work, including the counter spring.
-
Check out the attached, this is one way to do it for sure, and in your case, this is the easiest with fewest parts. Remove the bell crank for the knee lifter, you can see where the two screws are located. Attach a chain to the pull rod, in this case we drilled a cotter pin and put a washer on it so it does not slip off. Attach a foot pedal to the bottom brace, and you have a presser foot lifter foot pedal. Hope this helps.

used Singer 11 Class, NOW 10! machines as a lot, as is, various sub classes Click on our website here to view these machines; http://keysew.com/Webpages/DemoImages/Singer11Class.html Asking $4,500USD for the lot of nine, as is, where is. Buyer pays shipping or store pick up. Images of machines represented do not have pedestal stands except for one of them. These machines are at our location, all appear to be complete and have hooks and races. We DO NOT have parts, nor can we in any way support these machines. Thanks for looking.

Interesting thoughts, and probably not unique to this message board. I have very little control as to how or where the equipment is made. Kind of like not having control of where Mercedes, BMW or Volvo manufacture their vehicles; nobody is asking my opinion. If it were up to me, trust me, I would rather stand behind and warranty a quality made machine. Other dealers would as well who I have spoken with all feel the same way. Nobody want's to open a machine and have problems out of the box. And believe you me, nine out of ten times it's the dealer who gets left holding the bag when a new machine needs repairs direct from the factory. It's just a fact that customers I speak with have decisions and choices to make; new Chinese vs used German or Japanese equipment that are in the same relative price range across many makes and models. Not to mention the fact that you can pretty much across the board get two Chinese machines, often good quality, for the price of one of the Japanese makes. Hope this makes sense, and it's not much of a rant, as I explain this a lot to customers who walk in or that I speak with on the telephone.

Consew 225 Upgrade To Large Bobbin
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Nandy's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Works for me, and makes perfect sense here. -
It's kind of funny a machine that nobody seems to own is creating so much buzz! I think they are going to unveil the full blown version, with all of the parts gold plated!

Consew 225 Upgrade To Large Bobbin
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Nandy's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
IMHO this is more sewing history than anything; you're really best off finding a new/used machine than converting. After the labor and parts, it's just not worth it, and there is a reason nobody wants to do this kind of job any longer. It would have to be a special machine or circumstance to really want to go ahead and want to do this. -
Consew 225 Upgrade To Large Bobbin
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Nandy's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
And change out the bobbin case opening lever as well, CowboyBob know that for sure as well. Not really worth doing this any more, but like said this was a thing at one point. We've had 111W155 machines with big bobbin like this. -
Pretty sweet video. I think that most, if not all craft people do a poor job of educating their customers about the added value they put into their products. It's like almost people don't understand what to appreciate or what they are paying for.

Adler 30 parts are available, I've yet to see one that is discontinued. Expensive, yes. For sure.
