Cowboy Cb3200 Or An Artisan 3200 ?
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to GaryNunn's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
By fault of nobody, I sometimes feel like people are walking into a pizza place and asking if anybody can point them in the direction to where they can find a good slice of pizza! Just how it goes sometimes I guess. -
1541S Basket & Opener Adj.
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to brmax's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
See attached, this explains this better, but for a Consew 206RB style machine. Adjustment is the same, hope this helps. -
High quality made in Japan high speed single needle drop feed, simular to Singer 241, Juki DDL-555, DDL-8700 models. Common for tailors, dry cleaners, alterations shops and mfg. of garments and clothing, up to denim materials. Would not recommend to a straight up canvas or leather guy.

Adler 467 For Venator
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to gottaknow's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Leather worker.net shows up big again, nice to see people eager to help each other out. -
See attached, this is how handwheel should appear, with both white dots aligned to remove the bobbin. That's what these marks are for. They are fixed on the handwheel, and the handwheel is fixed by set screws on a v ditch and slot. Older 206RBs had the dot on the handwheel with an adjustable ring. In addition, the feed dog carrier could be a hair too low, and impeding the bobbin case from coming out as well, but this is a sensitive adjustment that can easily be too high or too low.

Da H867; What Is Nm 8/3 Thread?
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Ken B's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
This would indicate that the Juki cross references for thread in their brochure for the LU-1500 series I attached on this thread here is incorrect. I'm not so sure 8/3 is equal to a Tex 400 in a Polyester, I think it's a 207? If you look at various other charts, like the one attached to this post, it's confusing, but maybe no so confusing? They have metric sizes, but stated differently? I'm not sure at all here on this. -
Da H867; What Is Nm 8/3 Thread?
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Ken B's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Trox, B could be for bound, or usually there is a V in front? As for thread mfg. providing info, for example Coates and A & E have charts, for example, but they are not using the Nm system such as the 8/3 or the like. Gov., Tex, Ticket, and all kinds of other stuff. They have Nm, but not this system. Like you said, it can vary, for example cotton thread is going to use an entirely different system. -
Da H867; What Is Nm 8/3 Thread?
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Ken B's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
The Nm thread system used by Juki, Adler for example in thier brochures is a mystery to me, still. I cannot find any cross reference charts, just bits and pieces. For example, the specs on the Juki LU-1508NS have the threads #30~#5, B46~B138, Nm-60/3 ~20/3. So, from that, at least I know a B46 is same as a 60/3, and 20/3 is same as B138, from this spec sheet. They also have #20~#1, B69~B207, Nm=40/3~8/3. So, again, I can see 40/3 is a B69 and B207 is an 8/3. This is as far as I can get with this really. Anyone with more information, I'm intrested myself on this. -

Chevy Vs Ford?
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Gregg From Keystone Sewing's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Maybe not, but I have some push carts that pick up thread better than any sewing hook I've seen! -
OK, go at it!

Adler Patcher Parts
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to steelernation's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Here you go, parts not for a 30-5 here, but 30-50. Don't know if your machine is in fact a -5 or 50, and I'm not knowledgeable of the Adler 30 sub classes at all, so be very careful when ordering parts to use or not use this parts chart for your needs. http://keysew.com/Webpages/Owners&PartsBooks/PartsBooks/Adler30Parts.pdf http://keysew.com/Webpages/Owners&PartsBooks/OwnersBooks/Adler30Owners.pdf -

Material Guide For Juki Lu-563?
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to MadMorbius's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Thanks for the kind words. Both machines mentioned here, Singer 111W155 and Juki LU-563 can use these swing guides, but like said, holes into the cast iron will have to be drilled and tapped for this to mount onto the back of the arm of the machine in this case. Some models already have holes than can vary from model to model in location and tap thread sizes, but this is not the case here. Thanks again. -

Adler 267-373 Vs Seiko Sth-8Bl
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Ken B's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I personally like the 267s models a lot. Adler has tons of parts from what I understand, so I think support for this machine should be good for a long while, in addition to the knockoff machines that produce non genuine parts as well. -
Adler 267-373 Vs Seiko Sth-8Bl
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Ken B's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I offer and sell both the Seiko STH-8BLD-3 and just sold my last Durkopp Adler 267 shipped from DAP America that was already sold before we got them. The best answer to your question I can give is that historically top load machines with vertical axis hooks have always been more expensive than bottom load horizontal hook machines. Across the board from mfg. to mfg. The bottom line is what you pay has a direct correlation to my cost, if you will. In some cases the margin on the higher priced machine can be less than on a less expensive machine. I can also tell you that just because a machine costs you more, it does not mean that a dealer like myself would profit more. Thinking this could maybe be a mistake. Good luck, both are really good machines and I think you'll be happy with either make and model. -
Adler 267-373 Vs Seiko Sth-8Bl
Gregg From Keystone Sewing replied to Ken B's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Ken, Just to get the discussion started here, you seem to be asking about 30 different questions here, all going in different directions. Ironically, you seem to be answering all of your own questions as if you are putting them down on a plus/minus list. Are you able to demo both machines if possible? BTW, the formerly made by Durkopp Adler 267-373 has not been made in Germany in over ten years. It is now officially discontinued by DAP, no stock, and now is being 'replaced' with the Pfaff 1245. Hope this helps, both are good machines for what they are intended for.
