    Introduction

Welcome to the madness !! We love it when people find us and they come with pics. Nice job man. I'm just down the road in Royse City. IF you didn't know it there is one of the biggest leather craft shows going on this weekend in Ft.Worth, the IFoLG at the Green Oaks Hotel. I'm about to head back that way. keep a toolin
  2. I'll throw a few of the pics i took today up. I"m tired and about to fixin to hit it.
  3. That's really nice stuff Bruce. Now it's got me stinkin thinkin of what i can come up with. Clay, Clay, Clay, no matter how hard you try , you'll never find happiness in the bottom of a doughnut box.
  4. Thank you, thank ya very much. Alex you are way to kind, thank you. I think adding the white with a dry brush really helped . I should of taken a pic of it before i did that. next time i will. Plus i went back with black and outlined everthing, i think of this piece it helped all the colors stand out a little more.
  5. only 80-90 a year. pppppffffffffffffff only pffffffffffffffff Dave please tell me you don't have a day job as well. I would think if you can put out 52 a year making it one a week you are doing seats full time. Jeeze 80-90 sounds insane to me, now i'm really impressed , you're a machine i tell ya. great work Dave !
  6. That seat turned out looking a 100 times better then i thought it would when i saw that pan. I really like you style and that was well put together, thanks.
  7. Very nice !! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. what type and size leather are you using ??
  8. I forgot all about this seat, i'm glad i jumped back in this thread. Dave, those look really nice. Do they put these on all there bikes or do customers order/ask for them. I hope they know that they are not just getting a leather seat. They are getting a really nice top of the line job with one of your seats. Love your work thanks for sharring.
  9. I'm always blown away at your work man. I wish i could lace like that, i think most of us do. If winter ever hits here i might be needing one of those welder beanies, but for now it's still just to freakin hot here. You say about 30 hours , how much of that is just lacing ? and how long of a piece do you like to work with at a time ?
  10. It's pretty much done, all i have to do is finish the edge and make a small loop to attach a chain to. The blue is Sky Blue and it's a Hi Lite. its very goopie if you will. I let it get a little messy in a few places. The pink for the cherry blossoms , i watered down the Deep Violet color. That's the one good thing about using the eco-flo water based dyes. Easy to lighten up a color. Once again i used all eco-flo dyes except for the white. They don't make a white so i used Fiebing's whit dye. Any way here it is.....
  11. Thanks you all very , very much. It was small and a little tedious at times but, it's all about practice rite . Yeah me to. No really i don't know if you'd call it natural . Last weekend we had our 20th year class reunion, maybe back then it was natural. Or just what i did naturally instead of studing. I think it would rock if you wore that skull on your head. LOL !!! The dog had a bad attitude, so she's in the freezer now. Well you kow,, i was going to do something like that. I could do another one real fast if i knew magic. :euro: Yea even if i fall over people will still know it's me. Not sure that's a good thing though...
  12. I was thinking of making a name tag out of leather with my user name to wear at the show this weekend. I don't know ,i guess i just needed something to do. It rain today and i get bored setting at home. Well i wanted to rework the ambigram i made for the word freak. Well once i started drawing i kind of got all into it ( which felt good i haven't got into drawing in many, many years ) so it's more then just a name tag, i guess you could call it a badge. Not sure my taste is ever ones taste but, that's one of the great things about leather work. You can still see the art or what have you. I started dying it already but no pics of that yet. Again i went with the japanese tatto style art work.
  13. WOW ! your ability to reproduce a wood look is uncanny ! That's extremely nice man. You do have my new address rite ? I wouldn't want you to mail that to the old place.
  14. that's pretty cool. i like it. I sure hope my wife does not see it. I really like the way is draws close.
  15. simply but , that's freakin gorgeous . Very, very, very clean. I love it, nice work Kate.
  16. Thanks !! Yeah it's lined. This was only the second thing i've stitched and i've done a ton and reading asking question about that. Thanks JWU i've seen that one before. There's only one other one i've seen for the work freak that was way nice but it's all caps. This is the one i've come up with for myself. i still have a few things to change or tightin up and i think i'm going to go back to the "e" i hade . so fat this is version 3.
  17. Thanks guys. LOl i've got a typo, the title is right i missed it in my thread though. It's ambigram. you can do a Google search and see alot of ambigram and find some tips to make your own. I'm working on making one for "freak" to use as my sig stamp.
  18. If you don't know. an ambirgram is a word that can be read from 2 diff ways. Either reading the same word or two diff words. In this case it's the two words Jesus and Christ. When held one way it reads Jesus and when flipped over it reads Christ. I used one of the ugliest scraps i had to make this. I wanted it to look used and already worn in. I should of takin a pic of the piece of scrap. you would not believe how marked up it was and yet none of that shows. It still turned out looking not-new and i'm pleased with it. Anyway ....
  19. I"m on the same page as Kevin but, without ebay. I can only imagine what ebay's fees would be to list something with a vaule of $4300. If i can get things done , i'm going to make a few pieces and set up at a art fair. You know with real art not a craft fair. it's a half and half crowd. One half that can't afford much of anything , if anything but love the show. While the other half want buy or give the time of day to something that's not pricey. So i'm hoping to make a few things and price the living carp out of them. Well i say that i'm really going to price them for what i consider to be the time invested price. I think alot of people here sell their stuff for to low. I've only seen a handfull of peoples stuff for sell though. Anyway we'll see how it goes , it's all about marketing and where you place yourself. Just like real estate it's all about location, location, location.
  20. That's super clean work man. I really like that design, ALOT ! Can't wait to see this one done.

mollie crap corn. you just pimped your work space. Dang man that's a very ,very, very, very nice set up. That's gotta rule to be able to stamp on any part of the counter top. I never even thought about doing it like that before. Great now i've got another project i need that i can't afford. Thanks Dave !

    elk & oak

i'm without words here and that don't come often. For now you'll just get " Stunning " and " WOW ". It's hard to type when ones jaw just hit the floor. That must be what they call ,"Slap your moma good".
  23. Well welcome to the madness. Be warned though, the more you learn the more addicting it is. When you have a question don't hesitate to ask. There is alot of great talent around here that love to help other out and share any short cut or easier way of doing things and what not. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.
  24. Oopss i forgot to add. I'de really like to see you start a thread on how you made your own tools. I've got a few ideas on a few i'de like to make and a few ideas on how to make them.
