I found it. It's called a "Pantograph" and if you have a Lee Valley Tools near buy, or want to order via the net they sell them. I've attached a link to them. Lee Valley Tools Ken

Paul, You can buy a tool (I'm not sure what it's called) but what it is, is a couple fo pieces of plastic attached together like scissors. You attach a pen or pencil to one end, and the other end has stylus type thingy. By changing the size of the scissor arms, you can trace the pattern and reduce or enlagre it. I'll try to find a pic of one for you. You can actually make it yourself out of a few pieces of thin wood, and some screws. Ken

Well Vera, I'm not sure myself, but the attachment I see is VERY nice. I love the way you do your work. Ken

Hey SScott, No proble, ask away if you so desire. Sorry to hear about the shoulder, I bet if you ask, someone here could make you a nice leather brace. Ken

Hey Tim, Again some great looking work, I love your airbrushing. What are you using for colors? One thing though, have you tried the "Left Handed" lacing? By doing that your lace will be symetrical on both sides of the panel. Ken

belt buckle
Beaverslayer replied to Cecil's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Cecil, as Electrathon said, you should undo a few laces at the beginning so that your joint between the two are cleaner. I can see by the pic that the joint of the two laces is not exact, as the one lace is actually going over, not under the next one. As too the darkening, what I do some times, is to use an acrylic clear coat where I want to block-out. Then after I've stained or dyed, I'll wash the acrylic away, and then I can darken the area I want. Ken -
Really nice looking again Beeza, one day soon you'll be on all the covers. Ken

purse for my wife
Beaverslayer replied to Mike Craw's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Mike, nice job on the purse. I've attached a pic of the lace roller that I use. I made it out of a piece of 1" electricla conduit, with a bearing on each end, and a steel dowel throught the middle. All welded together with a bit of scrap from the garage. You can also buy a woodedn one from Tandy. I find that rolling the lace is far easier than pounding, and you will get a far more even efect.
