  1. You need to quote at least part of a post from the member you want to contact, or to tag the user so they are more likely to get a notification. Some members have not properly set their notifications. See, I quoted your post. That helps ensure you will be notified of my response to you. To tag a member, type the @ symbol followed by the member's name and pick the member from the popup list, like this: @MStreiff You have a query.

Some members have not properly set their notifications. AlexFisher hasn't been on this site since Nov 2. See, I quoted your post. That helps ensure you will be notified of my response to you. To tag a member, type the @ symbol followed by the member's name and pick the member from the popup list, like this: @Alexfisher You have a query about your machine. Please update, is it still for sale or has it been sold?
  3. Moved your post to Leather Sewing Machines. This is where the machine guys hang out and you are more likely to get responses here.
  4. You need to quote or tag the member to be sure they are most likely to get a notification. A quote is just like I did here. To tag a member, type the @ symbol followed by the member's screen name and pick it from the popup box. You do it like this. @JSM and @CowboyBob can you help this person out?

  6. If it was USMC black, it takes a lot of buffing to get rid of the 'loose' pigment on the surface. Needs to be sealed with a good quality water based or lacquer. Anything else doesn't provide a real seal. Oil and wax change consistency with temperature and rub off.
  7. You should join leatherworker.net so you can post easily, and not have to wait for a moderator to approve your post. You didn't provide enough information for anyone to be able to help you. Join and try again. I see from your IP address you are likely from the Maryville, Tennessee, 37802
  8. Moved to Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
  9. Post your photos here. 3rd party hosted photos often disappear, and many users will not download from sites they are not familiar with.
  10. According to the IP address, appears to be located at Indianapolis, Indiana, 46255 OP hasn't been back on this site since Sep 22, so appears not to be too interested. Maybe you'll have better luck. @Lthrz
  11. The files are in the second post above yours. Both downloaded without any problems.
  12. You can do a video and put it on YouTube and link to it here. This site doesn't allow large enough file for good video. Height of this video is at least 2 screens, so can't really see what you are trying to show. Good luck.
  13. Some photos would be helpful. See the marketplace rules here https://leatherworker.net/forum/forum/70-announcements/
  14. The 134-35 LR appears to be a leather needle. This needle system was made for PFAFF. You can use the 135-16 leather point instead. Your choice maybe determined by availability and cost. Since he supplied both, appears the machine is happy with either, that's my guess.
  15. Moved to leather sewing machines
  16. Yes it is all top thread. Draw it out on a piece of paper showing how it would have to go around a 2# spool and be pulled back up.
  17. Look at various types of splits. Heavy, lots of colours.
  18. Just the same as the top thread has to be pulled around the bobbin, it would have to be pulled around the spool. Huge loop and space required. How long/high would the take-up lever have to be to pull that loop back up snug?
  19. Moved this thread to leather sewing machines.
  20. Moved your post to leather sewing machines.
  21. If your files are too large to post here due to file size restrictions, you need to resize your files to fit. Follow this link for some helps and suggestions. https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171 There are lots of Apps, software, and online tools available on the web, or even built into your device to enable you to reduce your file sizes. 800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate. Smart phone screens and many monitors don't display high res files in high resolution. People that live on the fringes of the internet appreciate smaller file sizes and high res photos may take from 10 minutes to hours to download.
  22. That would turn the hook backwards so it couldn't pickup the top thread and lead to jams! You need to study the operation of a sewing machine a little to understand some of what it can and can't do. Instead, you lift the foot very little, just enough to make it easy to turn the article you are sewing 180 degrees. Turn it just after the needle enters the article or after it has risen 1/4" or so from bottom, after the hook has caught the top thread. Interfering with the formation of the loop will result in skipped stitches. If you lift the foot too far, it will release your top tension, messing up your stitch line. With a little practice, it becomes automatic. Practice on some scrap materials, similar to what you will be sewing, so you can learn to make it work for you.
  23. Leather point in my opinion. Reduces the blow out on the back, makes a nicer stitch. I use a leather point for all my leather.
  24. @takoda Moved your post to leather sewing machines. This is a great area to research machines and servos. Lots of experience gathered here.
  25. Please post jpeg or png files. Many members will not download files they don't recognize webp (google) files. jpeg and png display automatically so don't require the user to go through a download process.
