  1. @IronCross Moved your post to Leather Sewing Machines.
  2. Please post a photo or two and give a few specs for what it is capable of. Thanks.
  3. Yes, the discontinuities in the crystal structure pretty much says bad casting and mill work.
  4. When you look closely at the fracture you see what appears to be crystals. From my limited knowledge of metallurgy, this is brittle fracture. Here is some authoritative information if you want to study it a bit more. https://www.corrosionpedia.com/definition/280/cleavage-fracture Quoted from above article: Cleavage fracture surfaces appear in steels due to: Sudden or impact loading Low temperature High levels of constraint Ambient temperature Heavily cold-worked parts I think the last item in the list is probably the root cause. If it was the first item in the list, I would expect to see a lot more damage, likely in the drive train. That is my guess, and am willing to stand corrected if there is a knowledgeable metallurgist here in the forum.

  7. Consider Chicago Screws. Available in several lengths.
  8. Missed that. sbrown's IP Location Seattle, Washington, 98101, United States
  9. Read posts above and profile, somewhere in Michigan. You could also add your location to your profile so you get comments that may be more related to your location.
  10. @DonLawson84 Moved your post to Leather Sewing Machines. Please post your photos here rather than 3rd party hosting. Photos on 3rd party hosts seem to disappear now and then due to problems with the host changing the rules, and because the person who posted the photos moved or deleted them. Lost photos destroy the integrity f the post making the thread useless to others in the future.
  11. @Johanna something strange going on here. The edit button doesn't appear for some, but does work for most.
  12. So to those individuals that respond to posts, you should quote a part of the post you are wanting to communicate with the person that made the post, or use the @ symbol followed by the person's screen name so a notification gets sent to them. Example @Silverd Good luck with all your projects.
  13. Do you mean sewing machine? You need info off the machine's tags rather than the motor. Motors are too generic to provide info about the machines they are attached to.
  14. @Scottgallagher Moved your post to leather sewing machines
  15. @Crosara Moved your post to Leather Sewing Machines.
  16. Yup, you pretty much repeated my comments!
  17. Really now! What's got your tail in a knot? Not enough compliments? That's being childish in my opinion. Not everyone comments. Many look and don't comment. I'm one of those people. I do appreciate the work, time, and expense that goes into lasered materials. It is still a part of our craft. I'm tempted, but time, cost, and all I've sunk into leatherwork preclude that. I still have lots of work to do. A large part of that is simply maintaining a home and 2 vehicles. Being retired, you would think I have lots of time, but along with retirement comes age, and the vagaries that accompany it, including a lot less energy than 10 to 20 years ago.
  18. @jcraftsman Please comply with my request above. If not I will lock and archive the post.
  19. Uploaded file to the OP's post.
  20. You need to reduce file sizes. 1280 x 768 pixels or there abouts is adequate for photos as the screen resolution on most computers is typically less than 100 dpi. See this post for helps and suggestions.
  21. You will need to reduce your file sizes. 1280 x 768 pixels or so show adequate detail. See this post for lots of suggestions and helps for various systems. We request that you upload files here as links to 3rd party sites often go bad for one reason or another.
  22. @VIIXCIV Moved your post from Wanted, to the Marketplace > Items for sale > Miscellaneous Others since you have listed all types of tools etc. Please upload your photo in JPG format. Many people can not view your HEIC format photo.
  23. @scottk1967 Please comply or I will archive this post and lock it. There is a reason for the rules, they help to keep things consistent and avoids wasting others' time asking for the info that you should have posted.
