  1. Have you changed needle or thread size or leather thickness or leather temper? Harder thicker leather needs a larger hole to get the thread to pull up. Try increasing the needle size.
  2. That's the limit! Kind of small. There are lots of suggestions as to how you can reduce file sizes here. 800x600 pixels is adequate for most. 1024x768 is a bit better. Either of these will allow you to post many photos. It is also a favour to users on the fringes of good internet access. They don't have to wait an hour or so for a couple large photos to download before they can view the post. Please refer to this thread to find several pieces of software or web based utilities to help you.
  3. @Loudcherokee I have copied your photos into your posts. Please do not use 3rd party photo hosting services for photos. It's okay for videos as there is no way to get them into LW considering their size. 3rd party hosted photos disappear when the host changes policies, goes out of business, or otherwise. They also disappear when the originator changes their location, deletes them, etc. When this happens, the integrity of the thread is lost for all the members that come along later. You will find lots of examples of this if you browse other postings here. You can reduce file sizes if necessary to meet the size requirements. These files were small enough that there was no problem uploading to LW. @Loudcherokee Did you notice kgg's comment? If not you are in for a lot more trouble.
  4. Always turn over by hand after a fix, not under power! Next time!
  5. You want it tight, compress the leather somewhat.
  6. Maybe you can rub some chalk across the mark and wipe the surface off so we can see what the mark is. Black on black is hard to discern.
  7. Check out Amazon.com, lots to choose from, you can see different layouts and sizes. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=self+healing+mat&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

  9. @Adverse You will have to ask @Johanna to change your display name.
  10. Please post your photos here. 3rd party hosted photos have a tendency to disappear, destroying the integrity of the thread. Hosting companies change policies, disappear, people move their photos, delete them, change access, etc. There are quite a number of posts that no longer provide the information they were intended to.
  11. This is for a computer, versus a phone or other device as I'm not sure it displays the same. Go to the top right corner to where your display name is "Adverse" click on it and click on account settings. You should see your display name with a prompt to change. I'm assuming that this works for all members, not just moderators.
  12. I have used bonded polyester fabric on the insides of some wallets to get the thickness down. The stuff I have has a simulated grain on one side and fabric surface on the other. It won't last as long as leather for every day back pocket use. Just noticed the very small card wallet is starting to flack apart in the interior fold, so will have to take a look at exactly what is happening to it. Where it is flat and doesn't flex, it is nearly like new and still looks good - around 10 years old. So maybe it is fine for none flex applications where you have to reduce the thickness due to the number of layers. The stuff came from Tandy and hasn't been stocked for several years.
  13. This is a great idea Dwight. I'm sure that there are many here that appreciate this idea.
  14. A google search will get you dozens of comments and threads about belt sizing. Try this without the quotation marks. "site:leatherworker.net belt size" "site:leatherworker.net" is a parameter that limits the search to the site - leatherworker.net Add what ever parameters you are searching for following. Google has huge search engines and databases that have indexed more words and terms than the search function in LW does, and is much faster. One of the first items that it brings up is about standardized belt lengths. So I thought rather than rehash all the previous comments, you could start with the existing experience and knowledge here.
  15. @Tackman Please read and conform to the marketplace rules https://leatherworker.net/forum/forum/70-announcements/ Besides your location, where are your photos?

  18. Top 3 photos are clicker dies for cutting soles. Clicker dies are normally used with an hydraulic press.
  19. Read through this thread for some assistance. The last post has a bulk resizing program you might be interested in. Pictures in general do not need to be larger than 1024x768 pixels to have adequate resolution. Even 800x600 is good enough for many. Also it is a favour to people on the edge of the internet to keep file sizes down so downloads don't take hours. One of your prime buyers might be someone with limited bandwidth so be good to them.
  20. Is your shipping USA only or worldwide?
  21. Perhaps you would like to check through this thread for help. Also post jpg or png files that most everyone can download and view.
