  1. Suicide posted one the other day http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=37511&st=0&p=232050&hl=+coin%20+purse&fromsearch=1entry232050 you can see the gusset in that one. That being said, what you've done there is beautiful I really like the lacing. Kevin
  2. Believe it or not, it is Ostrich from Tandy, it was in their last month's flyer and over all they're excellent! Thanks too BTW. Kevin
  3. I'm not sure how I should proceed. I could have kept lacing around while coming up the left side but the lacing would have been backwards when the sheath was snapped closed. I'm definitely no pro at lacing and I can't seem to think of the best way to integrate flipping the sheath over to lace the flap. At first I was planning to just lace continually around but then realized how bad that would look(luckily before I did it haha. have a look, hopefully someone knows what I mean and can offer a solution if not I'll attempt starting a whole new section of lacing. I'm really happy with how it is turning out, it'd be a shame to bomb it now. Cheers, Kevin
  4. Use the "Macro" setting if your camera has one (represented usually by a small pic of a tulip) and better lighting. The blur comes from not using the flash combined with not being steady. Try resting on your wrists or elbows. Good luck. Kevin
  5. If it's something you only need for 1 job or a small job try some toothpaste. Kevin
  6. Not what you are looking for, but for safety, I'd recommend bike/saddle bags or a tow behind trailer for tools. Kevin
  7. The stuff i have is quite a bit thicker than python, and I do not believe it can be wet molded. Kevin
  8. Those are awesome!! - Thinking about making those makes my head hurt, very impressive. Kevin
  9. I think it's more noticeable the narrower the lace gets. Kevin
  10. X2 that was my exact first two thoughts. Really impressive tooling and finish and that the holes should be closer to the edge. Way to go, Kevin
  11. Amazing as always. I really like the dark/light contrast. Kevin
  12. THAT!...is awesome! Way to go, thanks for sharing. Kevin
  13. I have http://leatherburnishers.com/Burnishers_for_Drills.html These are made by Spinner, one of our members and they are top notch. The site says he's put a hold on production pesently, it may not be long until he takes orders again. Kevin
  14. Thanks, I'm in Nova Scotia, we have a Princess Auto in Dartmouth. I'll keep my eyes open I go there semi regularly. Thanks to you and all that replied. I hadn't seen one of these before. Kevin
  15. You'll have to use an awl. Most here will recommend a spade or diamond bladed awl, however I use a round one as it's the only one I have at present and it works. Others use a drill press or dremel to drill holes, for the most part I think that is discouraged. Just make sure your awl is very sharp and polished. Good Luck, Kevin
  16. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/LEATHER-HOLE-PUNCH-DEEP-THROAT-BELT-3-25-WIDE-/390306323222 this is the only link that I could find that shows the type of hole punch I'm inquiring about. Can anyone tell me if these particular punches are good? Also is there a name for them? I can get one relatively cheap so I was looking for info on it, seems like a good idea for punching belts and straps. Thanks for looking. Kevin
  17. My main concern is the fact that I live in Eastern Canada, getting decent leather and tools is a chore in itself. I guess my frame of mind was that the Boss was simple in design, doesn't weigh 300 lbs and if something goes wrong with it I could likely fix it rather than try to arrange shipping a beast to get repair work done. Secondly, I lost my right leg in a car accident nearly 14 years ago and I don't know how much adjustment there is on an electric machine/table to make it possible/comfortable to operate with my left leg and while sitting. So take in to account that I do this mostly as a hobby and ... there's my dilemma. Thanks for all of the feedback, Kevin
  18. I want to order a Boss I've almost got myself 100% convinced. I will be making Sheaths and Belts and bags and maybe a holster or 2 eventually. I'd like to order everything I need at once. Is the flatbed attachment very useful in any situation? The Material guide? For general use, will I need any of the additional feet? I do not know how to sew with a machine at all at present. It's unlikely that i will sew much of anything other than straight runs on flat leather pieces. Should I get some of all the needles? (how many needles should one have?) Will 6 bobbins be enough? I'm guessing there is cheaper places to buy thread, if I had to pick one size to learn on for Belts and Sheaths what size thread? (and needle) Lastly, "Open Mic" tell me anything I'm missing. I really appreciate it, I have been debating this for about a year...please give honest opinions, pm me if you rather. Thanks a ton, Kevin
  19. Very Nice, far from "Junk" Thanks for sharing. Kevin
  20. Ya that definitely isn't too long, I wasn't sure how long of a lace you were using. Not sure what you can do then. Kevin
  21. Might have to try using shorter pieces of lace. Kevin
  22. Those pouches are beautiful, thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum. Kevin
  23. Very nice, I too love the detail in the skull. Thanks for sharing. Kevin
